Listening to the Spanish football podcast with sid lowe, they were stuck by the same thing I brought up.

How English fans are going crazy over pedri, after what was basically an average pedri game lol.

But not for nothing, people on here also got caught up, the reaction were was as if he had a worldie, when it was just a good game.
It was because of that lil spin move he did.

Casuals notice these things more than anything else.

keepball press resistance against non-pressing teams and cute dribbling towards own goal is best in world now

even Scholes was forced to drink the koolaid
Bruv. They were trying to press crazy.
Their midfield is known to be bullies. How can you do that, without being a non-pressing team?

WHAT.

Honestly after the first 20-30 minutes they stopped pressing and more sat in a mid block, with a bit of pressing triggers.

Which is why we couldn't get the ball to start the game, but began to dominate as Newcastle dropped off and started to tire.

Another reason why is didn't understand all the insane praise the Midfield was getting, after the first 20-30 minutes Newcastle basically gave them all the freedom in the world and was just trying to counter.

I like how Pedri is completely comfortable at asking the ball from his mates. 2-3 years ago some criticized him for not getting involved enough in the game and went missing.

But now he will move almost anywhere on the pitch to recieve the ball. Xavi-eque workrate (not same style with Xavi though).

Hiding from the ball is the worst quality a midfielder can have. Scott McTominay did this a lot at United.

If you are a midfielder you HAVE TO be comfortable on the ball. Wanting the ball is mandatory.
