8 - Pedri

More creative, I would probably give us that to an extent, but they have better goal scorers, not high volume, but they all have a shot on them, with us we know how de Jong is in the attacking 3rd.

While they have neves scoring hat tricks, plus we know what the other two can do as well.

But overall creative, I get what you're getting at.
Ya that's true. FDJ lacks in the scoring department.

Guess we'll have to wait and see. Thanks to the UEFA gods we finally have a way to answer these question.
I hope all three of ours and theirs are Fit and firing when we meet. We can finally rest afterwards. Lol.

Global praise for this cat. Even got the Paul Scholes stamp of approval.

:wow:

This guy is too damn good dawg. Even EPL fans are all united in their praise of him after that showing against Newcastle.

Has the talent, just need the performances in CL or WC knockout stage + a CL or a WC trophy to be acknowledged worldwide as the best midfielder in the world.

Pedri: The gem Madrid let slip away

Did you know Pedri was on the verge of signing for Real Madrid? It’s true—and they turned him down. Let me tell you the full story, because it’s one of those that makes us love Barça even more.

In February 2018, just 15 years old, Pedri traveled from Tenerife to Valdebebas to take part in a trial with Madrid’s youth academy. At the time, he played for Juventud Laguna and was already showing serious promise. Despite a negative report from a local scout, the club invited him to train.

But during those days, Madrid was hit by heavy snow. He only managed to train for three days, and was sent to train with the B team. In the end, they told him he “didn’t have the level.” Just like that.

Pedri has spoken about it with humility and pride:

“They told me I wasn’t good enough. I thank the person who said I didn’t have the level, because now I’m at the club I’ve always loved.”
And it’s true—his heart was always blaugrana. His grandfather even founded a Barça fan club in Tenerife, and Pedri never felt comfortable wearing the white shirt.

After that rejection, he signed for UD Las Palmas, where he quickly stood out. In 2019, Barça signed him for €5 million, and the rest is history: a key starter, Golden Boy winner, Spanish international… and a culé through and through.

So yes—Madrid had him in their hands… and let him go. We welcomed him, nurtured him, and today he’s one of our own.

Don't need to watch him every game to know what a special player and genius he is. He just is.

@soul24rage says he needs to win more international trophies or boss a CL Final to be unanimously recognised as the best, and I get that. But for me, he's already the best midfielder (with Rodri) in talent, football IQ, technique.

I think the world of him as a footballer and hope he maintains this level he's been at for a long time now. And - most important - steers clear of injuries (as that is the only thing standing in his way of becoming an ATG midfielder).

And, as I always said, please never again use him as an AM. He has all-time great potential in the heart of midfield and I never got why he was played further forward.

He's literally irreplaceable and that's what makes him world class.

His average, is most other midfielders special day
I saw you say that above, just right now, and its a great way of putting it.

His best is better than most others best, way above it. And his average, is above most other midfielders' very good.

I forgot Rodri actually - he's maybe still second to him on form. But the fact that I am unsure of it speaks of how great pedri is, as Rodri is also a genius. Spain are so lucky to have them both.

He's just levels above most other midfielders. Other than Rodri - Frenkie, Vitinha, Neves and maybe Barella on a great day can hang with him, that's it.
