4 - Ronald Araújo

It was never an issue of us not wanting to sell Araujo tbh (don't believe that Bayern offer was real btw). It's simply an issue of other teams not rating him that highly. If someone comes with a good offer, he's gone. But chances of that are small.

What is likely to happen is us dropping our expectations of the feee we're gonna receive more towards 40 and less towards 65 or what his clause is. For what I think he is worth, at 40 is where I'd let him go.
Yup, around 40 sounds feasible and we should let him go if we get that. I mean dude fucked up 2 CLs back to back for us and he won't improve magically next season - ticking bomb...

Even if he improves in time, not worth tanking up our seasons just to bring up a guy who can't gather the guts to deliver when the team needs him even though he's supposed to be in his prime now. We already did that and got ourselves kicked out in CL due to his fuck-ups.

Someone should pay 40m for him. Put him at a low pressure team where he doesn't have to compete for CL finals and such... and he probably delivers better. Even if some players are not cut out for the elite level, it doesn't mean they can't be good under lower expectations. There's only 3-4 teams in Europe operating at the pressure level one will face at Barcelona. For many other good but not elite clubs... he'd be fine and a good player.

In a way I understand the club's philosophy of not spending big on defenders, since beasts like Van Dijk are extremely rare, much more rare than attackers. But I feel we overdid it with the defense in terms of how little we've invested in it.

A well planned well researched 35-40m CB could be the missing piece.
