Maybe Barca should just pump up these cheap La Masia talents and move them on to EPL for 30-60m. I just think it's short sighted and could lead to many just leaving the club and feeling used.

If we want them to be ruthless like playing Football Manager then let's get that money while the iron is hot. I just hope Bernal and Toni/Dro are ready.
Talents looking for game time have always left the club, either for money or playing time, or both.

Sitting on the bench for Barca or having a go at starting for Chelsea with loads of cash? Players would have to be stupid to turn that down.

La Masia can produce dozens of Fermins and Casados. If we are overbooked in midfield and need money, why not sell?

Feels like a soft push of player to exit and potentially finance a late central defender acquisition before market closes - but seems too late to play this route. January more likely but if there’s any chance to finance a move for Bastoni, then a push is fine by me

If they want to sell him because he was mostly an unheralded 3rd division call up that was never expected to do anything. Who may regress after this point to the mean. Ok I see that point. But what if he just keeps getting better?

Casado fits a similar story as that. Most thought he wouldn't make the 1st team at Barca B. He was at best a depth piece. But he did step up when we needed him. We could theoretically sell him as well since in reality he was never to relied on.

Youngsters dont think like that and them getting to the Barca first team squad and then staying if good enough to play regularly or moving on to an EPL team if not is a brilliant outcome for them.

La Masia is not some unique spiritual home as folk like to think where the players are morally broken if dont quite make the level of Barca regular or players look up to others making first team and being sold on as a bad outcome.

Real do it all the time.. Barca have done it plenty in the past. It is seen as a positive outcome for thier players and proof of the level those before them got to through the training at Barca and sets them up for a career.

As I said before, Fermin needs to ask himself to leave for Barca to consider offers. If that's the case and especially if the offer comes from Chelsea, let them bleed and ask for €70m. While Fermin is not the usual starter for big games, he's still an important squad player and by the end of the transfer window, the club has no chance to look for a replacement, so this needs to play a role too.

Chelsea over spending on some players only means so much.

They also got Palmer for less etc.

Can list names like Caicedo but the reality is there wouldnt be the same market for Fermin and clubs willing to pay that much.

As said before there are two sides to this.. 60/70m is most likely good value for Fermin but that remains to be determined.

But to sell him for that now at end of window due to incompetence of the board being scared of losing appeal on Olmo to then weaken squad for Flick when he has no time to plan for it is just more poor poor leadership.

Barca can get past it but it is about giving yourself the best chance and Barca fail to do that time and again.

Only one stands out is Mudrick but that was beginning of project, and more about sending funds to Ukraine and showing Ukraine support than the actual player after the Russian owner left.

Fermin needs to be compared to non EPL buys. EPL internal market is inflated and a merry go round with commission shaved left right and centre. Harry Redknapp would fookin love it.

50m is decent. Would be 60m+ ask if we were in strong financial position and 70m if we didn't want to sell. Reality is we are neither and not back in Camp Nou, playing our next game versus Valencia in a 6000 seater stadium and after that either returning to renting Montjuic or playing in a 27000 seater CN. Finances will continue to be tight until a big sale or a big stadium.

Could LaLiga be a little bit more understanding, especially after the Lequipe article showing our average squad wage being 7m a player compared to Madrids being 11m? Possibly. I mean we are going the right track financially.

La Liga should change a rule that teams can value and amortise off current players who have come through the youth system.

For example Barca if La Liga agreed on value of 60m for Fermin can put his value onto the books for 60m profit to be amortised off across the next 5 years at 12m a season.

Allow clubs to do this with homegrown players to a maximum of 3 and a maximum of 60-100m a player.

Barca have taken through hundreds of millions worth of players to the first team in recent years and their FFP position does not reflect that at all in terms of space created.

Yea the context of transfer we received have to be looked at through the lens that everyone knows we need cash, because uncle tebas hates us and also we've always been shit at selling players lol

If the starting offer is 50m, it will probably land at 60m if he is sold which I doubt.

He's about a 60m euros player, depending on his form when you sell him, you could get 70m for him, a nice hot streak before a January transfer window for example adds that extra 10m to his asking price.

Kinda like Nico at porto with city.

This sale would be on the board not Tebas.

They know the league rules and Tebas doesnt decide on them.

FFP in Spain is too strict but thats what clubs approved and it has been getting loosened off in recent years if someway still to go.

Basta yaaaaaaa, Cabron ! y Bona nit 🥂
Tebas has turned the transfer window for Spanish clubs into something as scary as watching Nightmare on Elm Street as a 10 year old. Every motherfucker is scared to hit the sack incase Freddy Krueger appears in their dream and kidnaps their teams best player to the EPL.

All this so his 'Vikingos' doesn't have any serious competition domestically.

Just shut the hijo da puta transfer window early :trump:
