Fans really keep forgetting football is a career and these players have their own lives, wanting to stay at Barca might play a small part but their career ambitions and what's best for themselves and their loved ones will always play a much more significant role.
Players who are benched here 9/10 times will prefer to move to a club with a better contract and with starting minutes.

This is why so many Masia kids leave, not because they are 'disloyal' but rather they simply have better chances in football going elsewhere.

Footballers also have expiry dates, they don't make money forever and their career can end at the snap of a finger, for sure we will see some of the Masia guys we brought up like Casado or Fermin ask to move eventually if they don't receive many minutes.

Exactly.

Fermin and Casado if they were to leave would be held up as positive examples of La Masia working and not as some scare story to other youngsters thinking they may be sold in future.

They would be held up as players who fought to get there despite not being the highest of rated players and doing it the hard way. Got to first team, helped win titles then got move off back of it that was positive for their careers.

If you are going to block the transfers for plyers who are not starters because they came from La Masia you just create a bottleneck for the chances of next generation getting minutes and leads to lower value in squad and fees in.

Fermin is making good money, he's not on starvation wages like poor Diaz was at Liverpool, freaking bastards.

He also plays plenty, especially towards the end of last season, that's enough for most to stay loyal.

If he leaves he just heartbroken, that he made a girl come between him and his best friend in the squad.

He forgot the golden rule, bros before whoes and now he and the club has to potentially pay for it.

How is competing with Cole Palmer and Estevao a better chance for his career instead of staying at Barca where he's usually the only (healthy) CAM in the squad?

Look at the prices they pay for players. No way Fermin shouldn't cost 80m+ variables, if not 100m solid.
50m is chump change for these fucks.

Couldn't agree more.

Chelsea are trying to lure Fermín by doubling his salary and guaranteeing him a starting role. They’re ready to offer over €50M, while Barcelona would only sell for more than €70M.
Chelsea insist they won’t move for Fermín unless he tells Barcelona he wants to leave, but would then push hard in negotiations. Fermín is seriously weighing the offer, despite always envisioning his future at Barça.

Estevao is a winger and Palmer has been better for Chelsea coming from wide also.
And palmer is one of this typical english players who wont be the next thing in 2-3 years like foden who also got average. Spain footballer have more natural talent and i think fermin has more talent than palmer
