Extend him?If he performs or becomes our starter, while staying available for the rest of the season. I wouldn't mind extending his contract, but maybe with a slightly lower salary.
Think he would be fine accepting this term. Don't see any big clubs going for him, and he wouldn't get anywhere close to the salary he's getting in any mid-table club.
Dude is yet to string together 3 months without injury since he arrived, hard pass. We'll need Christiansen this season so that Araujo can travel around the world in search of himself the fucking bum... Summer come and we need at least 1 decent CB and hopefully Espart will get promoted giving us flexibility with Kounde as CB backup.Kek.If he performs or becomes our starter, while staying available for the rest of the season. My caveat was if he stays fit. Which looks like he wont.Extend him?Dude is yet to string together 3 months without injury since he arrived, hard pass. Gerard Martin
Pau Cubarsi
Eric Garcia
We have 3 "reliable" centre backs
And only one of them is really reliable against the top teams, Eric. Other two are mistake prone, to say the least
What are you going to do Deco? Portrait the guy who actively proves to the football world he is not for this level everytime he plays a top opponent, as someone we can rely on
And hope none of the other 3 CBs suffers an injury, so we actually have to start mcdonald against a top side in UCL?
The financial situation is tough but if they expect trophies, they will HAVE to invent something this winter. There is no other solution
Letting Inigo go without a replacement is proving to be a grave mistake, as expected. I understand we were in a crisis with registering players but Inigo is perhaps the last player we should have let go of
Well... WHEN I complain about Flick's defending tactics it's because for now he needs to build the tactics around the players we have and not the players he wish we had. High defensive line with Casado as DM, that donkey Araujo, Kounde out of form and half asleep Cubarsi won't cut it - than Flick needs to adapt a little. The 5-6 week run we did everything wrong was of course on the players Flick had available, but still he could have adapted a little - pull back the line a little, play some Xavi'ish-ball with a lot of possession, don't utilize BOTH wingbacks at the same time leaving only that donkey Araujo at the back...True. And then people complain about Flick and Barca defending.
Well 5 out of 24 is still 20% games missing. And that's not counting the games he wasn't injured, but still didn't play for lack of rhythm and fitness. He played 5 games this season for more than 45 minutes so far and one of it was against the third division team.He only missed 5 matches this season so far. It's not the end of the world.
