14 - Marcus Rashford

1. He will not be a super sub.
2. he will not take a lower salary. In fact he will probably given more when hes signed.
3. G/A dont matter. He will be signed cause hes a profile we have lacked for 10 years. Fast winger who can score and dribble.
5. He is english and will geenrate numbers marketing wise. Probably already is.

In short he is going to be signed cause 30m for RASHFORD is dirt cheap.
You are agreeing with me here, dude.

But I won't want him with a higher salary. His current is already high enough.
Yes, 30m is cheap. So amortisation makes it palatable.

He's on 14 mil + bonuses (I suspect those bonuses get him close to 20 even now)

Because around 20 mil is what he's getting at United from what I read. He would probably get even a bump in a salary as do everybody that comes to Barca. Don't be so naive.
Alright, I remembered incorrectly, it's 14m. Didn't see any reports on the Bonuses, so I am not considering that.

I think we will, and we should try to lower it. Around the 10-12m mark is what I am comfortable with.
If it stays the same. 14m is high, but with amortisation it's still a bit palatable.

Anything more than that, I am not happy with.

Doing very well so far.

He's still in that Aubameyang kind of position for me though.

Does he continue this next season if we activate the buy clause and he gets the move for example? Or does he get a bit more comfortable and drop off.

Hell, we are only at the start so he may drop off later this term. But so far I get that (like Auba) he's liking being out of England and being in the Barca environment.

Either way, this season with the injuries thus far we would be suffering alot more without his presence.

In our financial situation i can’t think of a better winger/forward we can get. If he can accept a decent wage, like 10m + some performance based bonuses sign him up. United won’t ask for more than 30m. I mean they can, but won’t get more than that for sure. Rashford himself won’t accept another club anyway.

He’s not perfect but for our state right now he’a good enough.

He's definitely motivated to turn his career around. But he still needs to show more for Barca to consider buying him, because his complete package (30m fee + ~18m salary) rounds up to ~25m per year if he gets a 5 year contract. In comparison, Lamine (without bonuses) costs the club less than that.
Also we need to see how it'll work out when Rapha is back. The upcoming clasico will be a big chance for him to gather arguments for a permanent move.

IF he is purchased, unlikely to be as high as €30M based on what Deco recently said

I also don’t believe he’d receive better wages than Lamine or Raphinha, his wages would have to conform with the new wage structure

He’s barely 3m into his loan and 8 months remaining- a lot can happen but I like Marcus in this team, a lot

Antony ended costing Betis just 22m after playing the long game negotiating.

If Rashford is deadset on it being us or nada, then we could whittle down the purchase fee and payment plan.

Man Utd won't want to keep high deadweight wages on the books, despite their excessive spendings.

He's proving that the club was right to move for a LF & keeper over a CB.

With injuries we would be fucked without a LF, while we'll always concede for fun as long as flick is coach, the key is to have forwards who can score more.

Good job so far

And if any of the CBs would play on their level it wouldn't be that bad either. Wings were clearly weaker, a bigger weakness.

He always had great attributes.

What was lacking was consistency, work rate and mentality.

He knows this is his last chance at an elite club so he'll definitely work hard and give his best. He knows Barca won't coddle him like United did for ages.

Brilliant signing by Barca. Very shrewd.

The last few years of disappointment was the kick up his ass he desperately needed.

His talent was never in doubt.

Let me tell you guys an underrated aspect of his game. He's really good at combining and linking up with his teammates and picking out passes when he's motivated and has good chemistry with his teammates. People only ever talk about his pace and shooting ability but his linkup play is really underrated although not the most consistent.

He provides Barca a great threat in behind and it's a natural pattern of play and an opportunity for natural synergy that Yamal on the opposite flank prefers the ball to feet while Rashford is great at running in behind when needed.

Having said that, he's not a striker/CF. He can play there if needed but it's not his best or natural position at all. His holdup play is terrible and he likes to play facing the goal. Ideally, he should be playing off a traditional targetman.

He's more naturally talented than Raphinha and can be a great LW for Barca.

A big W for @Fati_Future_BallonDor @Birdy and @draconifire so far but remember he isn't a permanent traditional striker. Quote me on this.

Link-up is not there yet, he has to learn where and when to do it.
But I am fairly confident it will happen

Ideally, he is our LW.
Ideally we play Lamine-Rapha-Rashy behind a striker
