Nice goals. Now he has to do it when it’s 0-0 and no other attacker is stepping up.
Well, his goals showed a lot of quality and that is what counts - no flukes, well taken both of them... and he did show the way against Newcastle. There is more to come from him, no doubt - great loan and if he continues like he's played so far 30M is a fucking no brainer.

I am not critical of us signing him. In fact, despite his alleged high salary, I think it was a smart move. With that said, he still needs to prove himself again and again and one way of doing that is scoring when it matters, not when the scoreline is 4-0 or whatever.

if he wants to get signed by us, he needs to prove that he takes the game into his own hands and performs when we are drawing or behind (when team spirit is low) and not when everything is going the way it should.

No doubt, I agree...

Against PSG it was a fairly important game and you could say he stepped up by giving a great assist to Ferran when it was 0-0. Against Sevilla, he scored for 2-1 at end of half time. Could have been a pretty important goal if we didn't screw the 2nd half too. And what should I say about Newcastle

Yeah he hasn't been bad in terms of goals and assists. But when I watch him it's the usual him being on the periphery of games - he's just playing in a team that helps its attackers more than he got at United.

Some people though are trying to rub it in and tell guys like me we are wrong already, like he's been brilliant and the book is closed and this loan is a success. And - in October, before most important, pressure-filled football has been played - that is bollocks.

It's the usual problem on here, and with most football fans as a whole - no patience and instant gratification. Guy has a good game, he's a genius, then next game he's poor and he's rubbish. Football fans really judge game to game rather than trying to have a sample size of a season.

It's the same with the Fermin thread now. Lots of I told you sos because he had his first good game in ages against Olympiacos at home in the group phase. He was woeful against Girona though.

it's this sort of inconsistency in players that is EXACTLY WHAT YOU DON'T WANT AT BARCELONA and exactly what doesn't win you trophies - because you cannot trust these guys in the biggest games against the top teams. Messi, Xavi and Iniesta didn't have one good game, two bad games, two good games, one bad game etc. They consistently delivered.
