14 - Marcus Rashford

Need to cultivate a bit of megalomanic personality in him so he'll take those shots more often. If he weren't so levelheaded he could bag a dusin of those screamers per season.
First he'll have to learn how to not lose possession by passing directly to opposition players. Last night he lost the ball countless times by either trying some stupid dribble or passing to opposition.

Yeah, well, if he scores goals like that and is also top in possession, this already moves in the "where do we get 30m to sign him permanently" territory.

I could see Man U wanting him back if he has a banger of a season here. Embarrassing for them, really! Many of their players leave Man U and perform well elsewhere. xD

Anyhow, in response to @malvolio he isn’t our investment asset. He doesn’t have to be perfect for the loan to pay dividends… which is it already doing, btw. Earned us 3-4m by scoring those two great goals yesterday.

Hope he scores more goals than Nico 60-70m Williams. That would be cool.

United will not want him back neither will he want to go back.

Problem for us would be his current salary. But I guess he would be willing to reduce it to come here. We should do what most teams do when they loan our players with a buy option: fuck the option and bid half, or even better, expect them to release him on a free.

Still very early to talk about signing him. Other options could emerge and he has been below par so far, still adapting though.

As much as I was pining for the loan over the summer I have also always expressed concerns signing him on a contract.
Dunno how that would pan out.

Maybe another loan spell would make sense if he really performs well this season.

Plenty of time to weight that up, we're still 9 months from that decision - so much can happen between now & then

He's exactly what I expected tbh, I didn't buy any of the ManYoo rubbish from fans & English pundits throwing him under the bus. All you have to do is see the consistency with which everyone has been abandoned from that marketing entity thrives after being deemed not good enough

Truth, ManYoo is not good enough anymore nor will they be

No, not really.

Cause it comes down to a mentality shift that could happen as soon as he wins that contract.

It could be that he now is driven to perform cause he is eyeing that contract.

The only reservation about Rashfords performance, which I don't think anyone has said on this forum yet, is does he score the first goal if the defender didn't get that head injury?

Rashy was unmarked and in acres of space to finish with that lovely header.

And then a few minutes later the centreback goes to ground and has to be subbed with a potential minor concussion.

I just wonder if without the ball knocking him silly prior if he would have marked Rashy much better to prevent the goal.

Margins eh.
