We should have done everything to gamble on goekeres after the nico debacle. The situation in the box is dreadful. It depends entirely on Yamal and Raphinha to score . Torres at his absolute best is a decent squadie and when he is not at his best he is mediocre for high level.. as for rashofrd.. I know the guy.. Not good enough and never will be for Barceloa because he doesn't understand the mechanics of attacking the box unless he is running in a counter attack. It goes without saying that Lewa is finished.

Big problems this season with Rashford and Lewandowski being two of the main protagonists in the attack. I have never rated rashford and it's so clear Lewandowski is finished, as you say.

Olmo is up and down, Ferran had a purple patch last season, Fermin has uses but is limited, I fear Raphinha might be a one season wonder.

This is all very doomsday and worst case scenario by me, but it truly does feel like Barca will be relying on a teenage genius to pull something out of his arse in a lot of games. Maybe Pedri can chip in with more long range strikes.

Agree about the take but disagree aout raphinha being a one season wonder . The guy is really good and understands the mechanics of attack really well .. he has a goal and today even at his worse was close twice especially second time when he decided to be altruistic. He prolly wont replicate last year numbers but I'm sure bar something extreamly unlikely he will contribute a lot again this season.

Only other attacker that attacks space as well as raphinha is ferran but the latter lacks the acceleration the hunger and the shooting of the favellas.

fair enough, even if you add in Raphinha and assume he will have another good season (though inferior to last season), it's two guys out of about 7 attackers who operate on a level a Barca attacker needs to do realistically come close to winning the CL. Can the other chips in enough? Ferran did last season as a squad player. Unfortunately he needs to step up to main 9 now as Lewa is totally past it. There's noone else (I say again that rashford cannot adequately play as a 9).

It's gonna be difficult. But with Flick's extremely attacking system it might get the best out of them all again.

Truth
These are the sort of matches where you would hope to take advantage and while he straight away won two corners he was otherwise never really involved

Plus, the high pressure meant it was difficult for the back line or defense to pick out Marcus trying to get behind the Rayo defense...a dribbler would not have this issue so Hansi has to find the right tactics to make best use of him

And yes, Virgili is a much more direct dribbling threat from LW which we do not have in the squad

True, but still think he's good enough for a club like Burnley.

I never rated that Gyokeres fella much but gonna give him time. Still he doesn't look good at all to me. Looks a big ogre like Haaland. I am sure he will score goals, though. But I wouldn't be expecting silky link up play if I was Arsenal. It doesn't seem like Arteta is interested in progressive football anyway, though.
Arteta is lowkey a shit coach imo. Overrated at the least. My Arsenal buddy coming around to that finally after being in denial. If Wenger had 50% of Arteta's budget he would of had 3-4 more EPL titles and a CL or 2.

Gotta say, he's 27 but plays and moves like he is 47 lmao.

Not a good sign when so far he isn't looking much better than Ansu or Pau Victor.

Yeah don't think he can coach exciting football. He seems more interested in being strong defensively and winning off set pieces, high balls. Bit weird given he has some very talented creative footballers, but it's him managing them, not me.
