Does anyone have a chart/list/record over how many goals Messi has scored on a yearly basis ? (with club an NT)

in 2012 alone I know he has 51 goals already : D

You agree that he is slightly buff and taller , yet you disagree that he has lost any of his explosiveness, which means that he actually has to have increased his explosive ability. I just dont think thats the case at all.

If a am a person who is very fast and explosive and suddenly decide to hit the gym and do alot of upper body weight exercises , i will gain weight and loose some of my flexibility, thus i will be less explosive. I think that is what happened to him.

And to everyone else who thinks this is a personal attack of Messi, it is not, it is just an observation how his game has changed over the last years.

Todays Messi is better than ever , far better than when he was younger, but also not as explosive

You give me the impression of being a person who has never done any serious strength training in his life. You apparently know nothing about basic strength training and its affect on athletic performance. A person who does strength training will be stronger and more explosive than a person who does not, translating into better athletic performance.

This is a stupid declaration. Do I need to digress?

I agree to a certain extent but, this would be relative to how a person adds the weight and especially to the strength he gains, a Usain Bolt loosing muscle mass would not exactly be more explosive, but say if he bulks up 20% muscle mass more maybe the curve goes down, frankly when you have a price tag on your neck worth a decent portion of a billion dollars there are pretty well (in fitness terms) rounded people surrounding you and watching your every pulse or change.

Now you also mention him putting on upper body weight but forget that he might have also increased his lower body (legs, lower abdomen, lower back) strength and muscles, which would again increase ones output/ explosiveness, if not passed the peak size where you start to become more of a strong man and less of an agile athlete, again if Messi was some random person as myself for example maybe so, but he is being monitored by one of the greatest clubs / specialists and nations / specials.... heck he is even being monitored by many Football fans.

Im sure there are better models to show this, but you can generally see a muscle gain and more definition in Messi's lower body these days more then before, this is also nothing extraordinary, most professional players gain the same effect from young football towards age 30 or so, just by this long continued lifestyle of improving muscles such as the Hip Flexor muscles where are probably your best friend if your looking for acceleration.

don't forget that someone short running could give an effect of being faster then someone taller if both had same speed. ( not a rule but just an observation ) I believe Messi is actually as tall as Xavi if i'm not mistaken, but at debut season he was some Centimeters shorter.

I tend to loose myself and yap to much sometimes....
