I also remember TheEuropeanLad. Ajax fan who also liked Barcelona and was the biggest Ter Stegen hater there. I'm pretty certain he's the admin of @TouchlineX account nowadays.

He´s like one the most famous and reliable news aggregator for Barcelona on X. I remember his old account had +500k followers. When fans look for news regarding Barcelona they often look for him.
That still doesn't explain why one dude's opinion on the internet matters. He's no employee, nor journalist. All he does is refreshing the news of other journalists to post them and get money for their work. His opinion has the same value as of any other Barca fan. Nothing more, nothing less. It's embarrassing to think otherwise.
Sadly it's way too easy nowadays for idiots to become famous.

I don't think the club cares much about such social trends. They won't make a decision on a player based on that.

I also have no problem with ter Stegen being mad at it lol or these guys spamming the hashtags either.

I don’t think Raya is a good comparison either.

Raya has a clear weakness with crosses and high balls due to his height whilst Garcia is great at it.

He is literally one of the best GK in top 5 leagues in this, not comparable to any top GK. He is 3rd in top 5 leagues in that with 13.2%, Garcia is 11th, with 9.6%

Joan Garcia is going to start for us.

This is clearly Flick and Deco wanting a new starter because they don’t trust ter Stegen and Tek.

He will have to earn it though, which he might do it.

Other clubs have better keepers though. At Barcelona you can play right away. We don't have some Alisson or Courtois. Not even a David Raya.

More advantage for us to dictate terms

I kind of like Chevalier more, but I do have serious doubts about his ability to properly claim crosses and dominate aerially, and that’s something I really want our next starter to be able to do.

Especially when we aren’t the tallest team around on average.

My first choice by far would have been Mamardashvili since he is the complete package, apart from his suspectable sweeping I suppose.

Chevalier is just 2 CM shorter than Garcia ffs
Garcia is obviously better in air, but honestly I doubt this is the issue for choice, a good CB in aerials will make far better influence than any GK, the margins between the best and the worst is like 8% in those crosses claims.
I think sweeping and cost is the bigger issue, Lille starting negotiation at 40M, and Lucas is also a GK with worse sweeping stats than Garcia, despite the later playing in a more defensive team. I think Chevalier is more of old school GK who plays with good fundamentals, great positioning and anticipation, but he isn't suited for the sweeping hardcore style Flicks want, in that regard Garcia has more potential. Chevalier would likely be a better choice for almost every other coach.
Add the Catalan factor to that, so it seems understandable choice

I don't know man.

He's listed at 1.89m, but looks a bit shorter than that. I remember ter Stegen also being listed at 1.89m or even 1.90m and then suddenly he shrunk to 1.87m.

yeah. no way 1.89.

Think 1.87 as well.

Lamine just a bit shorter. And that was at start of season.

To be fair it's not just about height but wingspan, agility and leap. JG seems to be fair to good in these attributes.

Meanwhile Stegs before he went to the Bordolas School of Handsomeness.

If ter stegen doesn‘t want to leave he doesnt have to. He has contract till 2028.
If garcia joins, there will be competition, and the better GK will play. If mats wants to be 2nd GK, all good, he wont play the world cup. Stop to hate him. He is just a human, a good person.

2nd? If Garcia signs until we offload some keepers, he's 4th.

Says there are 2 goalkeepers for next season. He and Inaki.
Says he will be here next season.
Also said noone talked to him about his situation.
Plus, this quote: "I think that while I've been playing, I've always been doing well in recent years."

So basically, nothing is going on.
