1 - Marc-Andre ter Stegen

Have to think Deco/Flick promised him the number 1 spot to come.

Don't think he would bite if we told him we are going to loan you out first.

In theory, but they would have had to sort out, all 3 keepers on our books before doing that

Btw, don't think Joan Garcia signs only to be loaned to other club. That's like receiving bad signals from Barca if your future club doesn't think you're good enough to compete for a starting position at the moment.

I think you are overrating Garcia options here. There is zero big clubs that is offering him a starting spot right away.

His only other concrete offer is for Arsenal as 2nd GK for Raya, who is similar but much better version of Joan himself.

Other than that, he is a "maybe" for other clubs. Real is thinking about him as a replacement for Lunin.

His agent is playing games and getting exposed at it, leaking that he has deal with Newcastle, just for their media to confirm they want James Trafford, then it is City, just for their media to say they are after Costa, and before them it was Villa and their media said they are after Chevalier.

Mamardashvili who is a better, more proven GK, who was younger at the time, accepted such a deal, without even guarantees for the future.

Barca should be, absolutely, the one dictating the terms of the deal. Garcia has no leverage, we are his biggest chance for big move.

Would prefer Chevalier to Garcia, but I'm guessing he would cost more, plus the language thing will help Garcia adapt faster to the back 4 and high line

Other clubs have better keepers though. At Barcelona you can play right away. We don't have some Alisson or Courtois. Not even a David Raya.

I don't believe all this noise with Garcia is for nothing. After Tek announced he is staying, I can only assume Stegen is not rated highly by our staff.

We have two better keepers than Garcia, loaning him makes all the sense. He's still very unproven on a high level with only one La Liga season behind him.

Another reason is financial, we probably won't be able to register him before August and he won't wait.

Joan Garcia is going to start for us.

This is clearly Flick and Deco wanting a new starter because they don’t trust ter Stegen and Tek.

I don’t think Raya is a good comparison either.

Raya has a clear weakness with crosses and high balls due to his height whilst Garcia is great at it.

Let's hope so. There is one more option where it kind of makes sense, even if it's disastrous for us. They see Stegen as no1, Tek as no2, and they want Garcia as our back-up after Tek retires in 2026.

I guess he could realistically oust Raya as starter though.

He seems a kind of Arsenal, good not great, goalkeeper and player.
