Also, is AFC too big? Should it be more regionalised? Look at the distance between Japan and Jordan

    World Cup '26 qualifiers discussion

I was reading about Australia participating in AFC all these years (something I am not entirely sure I agree with, and have reasons why) and read this quote: 'Population isn't a driver for being a successful footballing nation (see India and China).' This guy is technically right but also...

    14 - Marcus Rashford

True, fair point. It's nice to have options anyway. So much can happen through a season so will have to wait. Injuries, performances, formation shifts can all affect it.

I agree with your general point, but to be fair Conor McGregor is the last person you wanna take advice from on having a good, rounded personality and being down to earth, lol.

    14 - Marcus Rashford

Do you guys think he's likely to get many starts this season? What's the likelihood he takes Raphinha's spot in important games? It would require a regression from Raph and improvement from Rash.

    7 - Ferran Torres

He's doing well but could be a purple patch as @zanela says. Sample size of about half a season is a little small. We have seen many many times in football players having a little burst of form then reverting to type. However, I will give him the benefit of the doubt. I believe he can maintain...

    Champions League 25/26

That makes sense as Portugal is the furthest west European country and I believe Kazakhstan is as far East as any of these technically Asian but play in uefa nations are.

Meant to say that's a round trip by the way. It's about 3000 to 4000 miles each way

    Champions League 25/26

It doesn't make as much difference now that every team gets two teams from each pot anyway, including their own - as compared to the previous system - but yes, I see your point. Seems harsh a team can do well in EL and another struggle in CL, but the EL team is rewarded more when they make CL.

@ThwiX Just looked up your home mate. Your town is about the same population (bit smaller) as the town I live in on the outskirts of Glasgow in Scotland. Bodø (pronounced [ˈbûːdøː] ⓘ,[4][5] Lule Sami: Bådåddjo)[6] is a town[1] in Bodø Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The town is the...

    Trent Alexander-Arnold

Think he's poor when pressed tho. Being able to execute his long passes from wider and deeper is a lot different to doing it and running a game in the nitty gritty in the middle of the park. There's so much more to than being a pretty passer. Think he'd struggle in that role.
