17 - Marc Casadó

There will be no big offers most likely as he isnt rated that highly to receive them.

It is all well say keep him but then could well be he stays, barely plays and value is even lower in January or next summer.

That is the risk for him and club.

He could well be 4th choice in his one position next season if all stay fit.

True, that's the risk but we wouldn't get a big fee now either so the difference between this summer's and next summer's transfer fee wouldn't be big.

Nobody is kicking him out, the club just told him if he wants to leave, he can. Because the answer is simple, we have already 4 players on that position that are either younger, better or both. Frenkie and Pedri are starters. Gavi is the next in line, Bernal is coming back who is younger and is considered the player with a bigger potential. So Casado would be the 5th choice, which isn't a good situation for anyone.

I think he'll stay for now, but if he doesn't get many minutes this season (which is very likely), he might reconsider next summer. The club knows this as well, so there is no harm done to tell him, if he wants to leave now, we gladly take the money for the ffp.

You think teams would still be willing to pay near what would now after a year of barely playing?

Not so sure.
I think he'll play enough and I think we're not capable of selling him this summer for more than 20 mil and even if we do we're not gonna reinvest in the team so it just makes the team weaker for this season.

Suspect Casado would get found out at another club.

Would keep him here as proven to be solid depth and someone whose highest level is very good for us. And if Frenkie is off next summer, then we won't be that desperate to replace him with Casado depth.

If he comes through an English club, got called up for Spain he would go for more.

But that country is its own buffoonery.

Said it multiple times - He's the first in line to get sold.

Wouldn't surprise at all next summer if one of Gavi or Fermin gets sold either to fund the ST and CB transfers that will be needed.

Guys Casado is a very good player but he is a depth piece. Also, unexpected considering just 2 yrs ago nobody thought he would be anything more than a fringe player. This would be a decent sale. Is 30m low? Yes! But we are keeping the superior player in Bernal and we must open up room for him to get some time. As Bernal is the long term starter potential type.

Haven't read the thread recently til new pages here but I thought he was liked/rated on here. Lots of talk of selling the lad.

Edit - oh yeah, the ACL.
