Best striker in the last decade?

Eto'o scored 4 & 1. Mboma 4 & 3. and it wasn't just during the tournaments. why start with '03? Eto'o didn't start then. discount 99/00 because he only started halfway through, but in his first 3 seasons he didn't crack 20 goals and then, alright, the injuries did stop him twice for us, but...

I like United, so according to everyone that makes me a United fan.

    Real Madrid (old thread)

this is exactly the problem. interestingly, though, he never suffered this with Spain. I think it's partly a mental issue. whatever he says in the press, I think he really doesn't like Mourinho's antics. he's a very proud old-school Madridista after all. yeah it'd be weird to see him...

Best striker in the last decade?

I love Eto'o, but Villa has been more consistent. and considering Villa only spent 1 of his 10 years playing for us, that makes his consistency all the more remarkable. internationally, Villa dwarfs Eto'o as well. and I've watched a fuckload of Cameroon so I know what I'm talking about here...

1998/1999: Barcelona Bayern Munich Brondby Manchester United best. group. ever. yeah Brondby were weak but the other three were so strong! it had both Finalists, and then us! we had a great team that year but still finished 3rd and went out!

that's the benefit of buying young players. even if you overpay, time is on your side and improvement is possible. we're all laughing at Kenny right now, but Henderson has plenty of time to improve and justify his fee. I mean, I don't think he will, and we should all laugh at Kenny repeatedly...

I shouldn't have said pace, I guess. that wasn't what I mean. I'm well aware there are 6'5 people who are extremely athletic. but defenders of Cannavaro's technique and drive are almost never that big. that's not to say everyone who's 6'5 is Ryan Shawcross, but you can't just say "all things...

don't think he should have won MOTM but he was dummying Porto so much you kinda had to give it to him.

    Seydou Keita

defensively I think he's just fine as a DM. he's mobile, tackles well, and covers play nicely. but he is farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr too poor on the ball to play at pivot (that's not to say he's poor on the ball in general, but our pivot has to be an exceptional passer). apart from taking too long to...

Best striker in the last decade?

I love Eto'o, and his Double Treble remains a miracle, but... ...234 goals in 442 games for Sporting, Zaragoza, Valencia and Barcelona since 2001. ...at least 20 goals every season for 10 years. ...47 goals in 76 games for Spain since 2004. ...2 Copa del Rey's with Zaragoza and Valencia, 1...

that red card was total bullshit. Suarez is such a piece of &*(%^$. as for the rest of your assessment. his performances have improved, for sure, but he was always this good. he just needed to settle in the team. well you did have to be prompted... :p

are we still talking about Yaya Touré? some of you really need to get over it. for the record: Badger is a better defensive player than Yaya in every regard. Yaya's taller and stronger, that's about it. but going forward Yaya is the superior player. and of course, Badger fits our high-pressure...

average at best? I'll admit it's taken him a while to show his true colours for United, but then he's only 23 and has already spent at least one year out with a broken leg & a cruciate tear. that'd slow anyone's development down, especially as it (and the recovery periods) comes in the...

it was under Sam Allardyce, who does favour butcher-like tactics, but then also likes his CM's to be able to pass the ball properly. so much so that he brought in guys from Lliga (specifically Hierro and Ivan Campo) to play there and run his teams. the fact that he felt comfortable to use Jones...
