    11 - Raphinha

I was thinking about Diego Milito this morning strangely, after Gabriel Milito's thread was posted in lol. Drogba is often used as an example too - he was probably class before but he really exploded hugely when he went to Chelsea age 26. And played in the second level in France for a while...

    Team Formation and Tactics

To be fair to Carra, his analysis is at least better than Neville's.

    The Dirk Kuyt special.

    Hans-Dieter Flick

It's a joke. RLY is shorthand for really, hence me saying really. As I say, a terrible joke. I thought about it though and couldn't come up with anything.

    RLY? Really? Sorry, bad joke.

    CL Round 3: Barca - Bayern 4-1

Yes you're spot on there, great point - xG is a longer-term stat, not to be taken too seriously in isolated games. It can deviate a lot for a team game to game but will regress to the mean over a period of time. Eye test is definitely better. For example that amazing cross (was it Lamine?) to...

    10 - Lamine Yamal

Thanks, I will. Haven't lurked on there in several days. They tend to be better when talking about non-United or non-PL football topics so I will give a look soon. Merci.

    9 - Robert Lewandowski

Yeah. The CL suits Real Madrid down to the ground because knockout games are more about moments, bursts of energy or quickfire goals or scenarios. The league on the other hand is about week in week out consistency. The former will always favour a team like Real Madrid who have the highest highs...

    Alphonso Davies

I thought Jofre Torrents was a new download site when I first seen the title of the thread.

Yes, I made that same point last season when many thought Arsenal would hammer them. League form counts for fuck all in the CL, especially with the big teams.

    CL Round 3: Barca - Bayern 4-1

Good to see you lads have sorted it out, Zeni and Grande, you both support the same team and are good posters. Better to get on, especially after a night like tonight.

    Hans-Dieter Flick

He seems a good guy and is a very good coach. Hope he can keep this going. I am sure he can with the right preparation and hard work - he seems very professional and serious about his job. I voted neutral because I wasn't sure either way, but the guy is doing excellently. Long may it continue.

    Harry Kane

Just seen this pic. Off-topic I know but he really does have a similar facial shape and structure to Ryan Gosling.

    10 - Lamine Yamal

He got an assist and had one or two really excellent crosses that could have been converted. But what I like about the lad is he's very Messi-like in that he doesn't need to always get goals and assists to influence a game - he can do it with his link-up play, passing, dribbling etc.

    Iñaki Peña (loaned to Elche)

He was ok, not good or bad I don't think. Still the best goalkeeper on the pitch as Neuer was laughably poor and looks really finished.

    Harry Kane

Not a remark on tonight, though I thought he did well in the first half, but he's so good at dropping deep and so good in the box too. It's a shame he can't clone himself and play with himself (oo-er).

    Hans-Dieter Flick

Bit pedantic but wasn't the pottery scene while he was still alive? Might be wrong, decades since I have seen Ghost.

    8 - Pedri

Might get destroyed for saying this but that music is quite good and suits the composed, effortless quality of Pedri in the video.

    10 - Lamine Yamal

The thing is they are so finished as a club that they could probably buy the 'next Yamal' and end up turning him into Lingard. They still don't realise their problems go far beyond one saviour of a player. At Barca, Yamal is supplemented by other excellent players. At United you'd have one...

    Champions League 2024-25

Here's how it went for me tonight - four out of nine correct outcomes. Not great but to be fair there were a lot of surprises - other than Inter, Liverpool and Man City, which were all in the high 90s, every other outcome (other than Barca) was predicted by fewer than 20 percent of players, and...
