    25 - Wojciech Szczęsny

One term comes to mind - Dunning-Kruger.

La Liga Round 10: Barca - Sevilla 5-1

Good team, though Pena is obviously a weak link.

    Antoine Griezmann

That sucks really. He can still offer something. But his decision.

    William Saliba

Andresito and I jinxed him. We called him one of the best CBs in the world then he got sent off in his next game. Still an excellent player though.

    Antoine Griezmann

Ah right yeah true. I haven't watched him since the summer. Maybe he's struggling a lot. Still only 33 though.

    Premier League 24/25

Yeah Palmer was disappointing after lots of us built him up on here. He is a really really good player though. Liverpool are the better team and Anfield is always a hard place to go for most players.

    Antoine Griezmann

Just realised he retired from international football. Only 33. Still got plenty to offer for France in my opinion. But must want to prioritise club career. He was brilliant for France over a 10 year period. One of the very best players at Euro 2016 and WC 2018.

    Romeo Lavia

Thought he was deserving of an update on here. I watched him in the first half against Liverpool - he's had injury issues hence being subbed early in the second half (and likely tactical too). However, you can see the ability he possesses - a few times he dropped the shoulder, created some...

    Premier League 24/25

If so he just needs Barca victory then. Good stuff, 3k is not to be sniffed at.

    Premier League 24/25

Best of luck, hope you win the 3k. Is it a draw you need here then? Edit: just realised you have both to score, nice one.

    Premier League 24/25

Very raw but lots of potential.

    Cristiano Ronaldo

Yeah that's it - he's an adequate passer at his best - nothing amazing, but can sometimes play an impressive pass. He's good at backheels and flashy stuff as you say, stuff that often doesn't go anywhere and is more for show. But his real talent as a footballer comes from the variety of his...

La Liga Round 10: Barca - Sevilla 5-1

He's just engaging in an appeal to authority fallacy. If what he said was true there would be no poor coaches - or poor anything, in positions of power. He's got a point that Flick is more informed seeing them train every day, BUT that doesn't mean people outwith can't have opinions. And...

    England

Only caveat I would add to this is even though nationality is more transient as I originally said, you generally need some ties to the nation, even if it is naturalisation. With coaches though there doesn't have to be any tie. It's a tricky debate and both sides are valid imo. I do agree fully...

    Cristiano Ronaldo

Agree on Robben, he's amongst my favourite players of the last two decades. As for Ronaldo, yeah he abused pace but like you say even at his fastest wasn't as fast as Robben or Bale so he couldn't create the spaces. He relied more on dribbling in large spaces. Another thing about Ronaldo is he...
  16. Maradona37

    Cristiano Ronaldo

Yeah his dribbling was mostly built around pace and kick and run, rather than twisting or weaving. Not as much as Bale's but still. Robben's was a bit kick and run sometimes too but he still had more ability to drop a shoulder, sell a dummy etc.

Lionel "The Greatest of All Time" Messi V2

Mad stuff. Crossing I feel is one of the easier things to learn too. Especially cut backs and low crosses. Well, it was for me.
  18. Maradona37

    Premier League 24/25

Yes they definitely are not the same team they were 3 or 4 years ago. However, they know how to win and they usually do perform worse pre Xmas than after. Don't like them at all, though.

Lionel "The Greatest of All Time" Messi V2

I don't know much about Balde - though I have watched him several times. He seems a talented player but is his crossing that bad? Thanks. Yeah I stand by it. I maybe went a bit overboard saying I 'hate' goal and assist stats but the truth is that the qualitative aspects of the game are still...

    Premier League 24/25

Anyway not that bothered mate. I don't actually have a problem with Arsenal, just feel they're not quite as good as claimed (though still very good) and have received a bit too much praise. If they win the title, fair play to them. You like them a lot as a team. Just different stances. Peace :)
