Abidal has a bit of the Thurams about him... but Sakho is even more similar :D Has that unbelievable strength. I'd like to go into next season with... Piqué, Puyol, Fontas, Abidal and Sakho as our CBs. Alves, Bartra, Adriano and Maxwell as our full-backs.

I don't think he's one of the best LBs in the world, most of his development into a top player has been done on the wing. He hasn't played at LB for about 2-3 years now.

He's had an awkward season this year: injuries, lack of form, a bit tubby at times. But he's a really good player generally speaking, hopefully he turns it on at the Copa America.

If he's not at least on the podium for the Ballon d'Or...

We're very lucky that we have such a good keeper at doing very little for 70mins and then reacting when he's actually called into action. :worthy:

Clearly he CAN make an impact when he starts, but I'd like him to be better off the bench.

Let's not hurry to judge him, we'll see what he's made of next season. If he makes an impact this season, great.
