He was absolutely dreadful. Pep's given him a run and for me it's done Maxwell the world of good, I've not been impressed overall, bar the first half against Arsenal.

    Andrés Iniesta

Thought he was terrific last night, constantly involved in the play, his shot was so unlucky, what a hit! Perfect time for a typical Iniesta big goal

    10 - Lionel Messi - v1

Yeh just a bruise really, certainly would have hurt, it looked like ligaments at first.

    Was it a Red??

Personally during the game as it happened I think he definitely heard the whistle. Watching it on replays I'm not as sure, but I don't think the time elapsed is that valid an argument, as it doesn't take long to kick a ball anyway. I think it was a harsh yellow, given that refs normally become...

    Jack Wilshere

I think he really is a fantastic talent, the two legs were a massive stage and he certainly didn't shrink away. I actually think his style is more similar to Xavi's than Cesc's is. If we're looking for a replacement, he may actually be a better bet IMO.

    Adriano Correia Claro

First half he was excellent, looked confident on the ball, got forward well, and was also really good defensively as well. Second half though he seemed to go back to previous performances, wasting possession. He looked knackered, Pep made a mistake leaving him on so long. He looked like an...

    Xavi Hernández

Flawless from Xavi, a real lesson for Arsenal. Constantly on the ball, he ran the show last night, and finished a beautfiul goal. How will we ever cope after this guy?

    10 - Lionel Messi - v1

I think that ^^ was a blessing in disguise. Messi was pissed about that challenge, before that he was slightly subdued. He was superb last night, that first goal will live long in the memory, a true moment of genius. I think it was actually so good many people (certainly me anyway) didin't...

    14 - Javier Mascherano

What a game from him. He constantly battled in the middle, so many tackles he put in. His challenge on Bendtner kept us in tournament. That's 3 games in a row and he's been fantastic in all of them.

    5 - Carles Puyol

Supposedly he was training but he still felt some discomfort in his knee. So that would explain him being ruled out. We can't play him unless the knew is 100%, else he could do serious damage.

    Gabriel Milito

Apart from that early moment (wasn't a mistake, he was just outpaced) he was fairly solid. Didn't have much to do but didn't really put a foot wrong after. I don't think Pep will trust him against Arsenal though. With Puyol's knee still not clearing up he's going to have to play more soon...

    14 - Javier Mascherano

Busquets helps out passing game far more than Masch, and he can pick a pass actually. Just last weekend it was his ball that played in Villa, superb through ball. Thought Masch was our best player last night, excellent all the way through, and that coming on the back of another good performance...

    Bojan Krkić

We should bring in a back up striker in the summer should one be available. Send Bojan out on loan and se where we go from there. The current situation is not helping either party, the boy is stagnating. It doesn't matter who you're training with when you barely get to play real matches. He...

    10 - Lionel Messi - v1

Some great dribbles in the first half, his shooting boots weren't on though. Even the goal only scraped in. Second half he was less influential, he needs to keep his work rate up.
  15. Cal-FCB

    Adriano Correia Claro

Can't see what was good other than the assist? He's not confident on the ball and he really lacks composure at times. Still not pushing for a first team place IMO, only advantage over Maxwell House is his pace.
  16. Cal-FCB

    Jack Wilshere

The more I watch Wilshere the more I think he'd actually be a better replacement for Xavi than Cesc. His style is much more similar, Cesc is more direct with his play IMO.
  17. Cal-FCB

    Adriano Correia Claro

Not a great performance by him. He still seems to lack self belief, the one time he really attacked the full back in the first half he skinned him. So many times he laid the ball off first time, like he didn't want it in case he lost the ball. He also didn't push up enough of the time, so we...
  18. Cal-FCB

    Andrés Iniesta

Pretty average IMO, playing in the Xavi role doesn't suit him. He didn't move the ball fast enough at times, there were a few nice bursts forward but his passing wasn't that effective.
  19. Cal-FCB

    Seydou Keita

Brilliant game, considering he hasn't had a lot of game time recently, even more impressive.
  20. Cal-FCB

    Xavi Hernández

We missed him hugely against Mallorca. The ball wasn't moved fast enough, and the timing of the balls when they did eventually go wide was generally wrong, so the momentum often disappeared. Thiago should have got a chance IMO.
