Worst FCB buy of the decade

Christ that is a horrible list  between Overmars, Ibra, and Geovanni for me. Overmars was never worth that kind of money, but when fit was actually a quality player. Unfortunately he never was fit! I'd forgotten Geovanni cost that much! Awful signing, disgraceful waste of cash too. Ibra...

    Pedro Rodriguez

Certainly one of my favourite players these days. Playing absolutely brilliantly right now. I knew he worked hard but seeing him live for the first time the other week let me see just how much he runs. Ridiculous energy levels from him.

    1 - Victor Valdes

That save in the first half against Callejon :worthy: Don't think he was to blame on the goal tbh, Osvaldo struck it very well, very difficult for a keeper to save.

    Lionel Messi .v. Cristiano Ronaldo

Was worth visiting this thread just for that comment Nolan. Superb

    Daniel Alves

Dani is just sensational. AS Jordzi said above, he can occasionally have awful games, sometimes in a row. But the majority of the time he is excellent and even on off days with his technical side his workrate never drops and he's always there providing an option on the right. There are other top...

    1/8 final opponent

I'd personally like Milan. It'd be a big occasion, I think we'd win. We played Arsenal last year so don't want them again. Marseille or Roma would be favourable though I guess.

    Lionel Messi .v. Cristiano Ronaldo

The debate will keep on going in the media because it's entertaining for them. They've always done it. Even when Gaucho was at his peak you still had the media here comparing Henry with him and who was better. Some people just won't be told.

    Best Manager of All Time?

Very difficult choice. Personally I have to go for Fergie. His ability to succeed over such a long time and in a changing environment is something unique. Although managers often aren't given that kind of time any more, it's still highly impressive. It's difficult to compare from different eras...

    Valeron vs Riquelme

Nice poll. I go Valeron though. Both sensational players, but I always loved watching Valeron more. Such a graceful player, part of that Depor side that were pure awesomeness. real shame his career was so badly affected by the injuries, but even with them cutting it short he was more impressive...

    Daniel Alves

After that victory I can't see him leaving. He was incredible and to be part of a night like that is hardly going encourage him to leave. Hopefully the new deal is signed soon.

    Bojan Krkić

Looked bright with his movement, very eager to make an impression. Great cross for Jeffren though.

    Xavi Hernández

The best player on the pitch last night IMO, a total masterclass.

    10 - Lionel Messi - v1

Well said by Bojan. It's clear that Carvalho threw his arm in Messi's face. He connected with his tricep area (quite a fleshy part), which is why Leo deliberately collapsed to the floor (an elbow connection would have knocked him down). It didn't really hurt him, but given the circumstances he...

El Clasico 10/11: FC Barcelona - Real Madrid 5-0 Manita!

Wonderful. Possibly the best performance I've ever seen from a Barca side. Every single player was awesome, they played with such a hunger as well as technical ability. Surprised it was that easy though, thought they'd be a lot more compact. They were really open from the off, Mourinho didn't...

El Clasico 10/11: FC Barcelona - Real Madrid 5-0 Manita!

Cannot wait!! This day has gone soooo slowly. Weird feeling having it on a Monday, I'm still ridiculously hyped though

Who should start as a DM in the Clasico: Busquets or Mascherano?

Biscuits for me. I see the argument for playing Masch, and he would get stuck in to their players. But I think we need Biscuits for his ball skills and his gamesmanship. I don't think playing both is wise, Real are going to sit back and counter. We need creativity to pass our way through them.

    Adriano Correia Claro

Thought he had a very mixed bag tbh. Plenty of his crosses were awful, fired over without looking. His two shots were awesome and he certainly gained confidence after them. Kept getting forward to be fair to him, picked out Messi for his goal. We all know he's a good player from his time at...

    Real Madrid (old thread)

Aroop just posted the video on Facebook, I didn't see the red cards until now. I think you can 99% say both were on Mourinho's orders. How soon after he spoke to Alonso did Xabi delay on that free kick? His and Ramos' were both embarrassingly obvious, UEFA should take action.

    Thiago Translantara

I've always felt Thiago had something, more so than JDS when they were both popping up. He looked excellent in the Copa, Pep needs to give him chances in the league now. Xavi has to be rested, achilles is an awful injury. The more Thiago plays the more prepared he'll be if we do desperately need...

    Gabriel Milito

Great finish from Gabi! Gutted for him. With Pique's recent cards there would have been some first team action for him. Hope he's back soon, it never seems to take him long to hit a high level after an injury though.
