Not world class by any means, but a very good solid winger, works hard, quick. He was joint assists leader in Serie A and also very capable of scoring goals himself. He linked up really well with Immobile at Torino last season. True, forgot some of it was in add-ons.

But we needed 2 CB's. If we spent 40m on Benatia (one player), we wouldn't have been able to buy someone else, or we would have had to buy someone truly mediocre. 40m for those two combined, is unfortunately "cheap" in today's market. Which actually proves my point completely.

No, he said he wouldn't be worse, meaning he wouldn't be an upgrade. Which I would probably agree with... the Alves of a few seasons ago was way better hands down, but currently he's just about as good as a defender who isn't really a defender.
