Can we unregister him for the Spring, I see very little point that he takes up a squad position and if we can do that can we avoid to count his salary against the salary cap?

We knew this for the last 2 years. But yet within this time he was made captain and given a contract renewal.

Other top clubs just don't operate like this.

We completely disregarded how frail he is mentally. It's even worse than we anticipated.

Should have used that 2022-2023 season when he looked at his best and sold him.

Man what are these reports? What is the club waiting, tell him he is not in our plans anymore. It's ok if you want to revive your career but you can do it elsewhere, not at the club that suffered countless times already

Deco is not capable of selling him for any fee so he should stay at least until the end of the season as a rotational player. Considering the quality of our other CBs he could become a starter again very soon.

If we could get a fee and sign a replacement I'd be all for selling him at this point but that's not gonna happen in this transfer window. Deco even said he's not even thinking about transfers lol. It's December, him and Laporta have a shitload of parties to attend, who has time for meaningless stuff like transfers and squad building?

No doubt a lot of behind the scenes politics at play. Rumours throughout day leading up to match had Tek as starting then suddenly Mats starts - perhaps part of the mole hunt strategy. Moreover, with a back loaded contract thru 2028 player is no doubt looking to preserve every cent that remains which precludes him from an easy sale and we know he isn’t going to play in a WC year unless Garcia gets injured - stay & don’t play, sale or loan

A loan can make sense for all parties if he is intent on playing to be fit & in form for the WC and that would start with him actually playing so potential suitors can see he is ready to play again after his recovery from injury. Had Flick, Deco et al benched him it would have unsettled player more and make a loan more complicated

Sale is unlikely due to his contract & player himself regularly choosing the nuclear option

Staying makes him a problem in the dressing room, especially if he is the leak
