His father is a prominent scout.

Obviously being a former player gives him some privilege which means he won't start as a scout, but that happens everywhere whether right or wrong.

Since you always claim that Victor Font had a proper plan have you forgotten that he wanted Xavi as essentially a General Manager with full power of the sporting structure with Toni Nadal also having a great influence?

Toni Nadal have never even worked with football. He was Rafa's tennis coach, a great one to be fair, but still a different sport.

Sorry, it doesn't happen everywhere.
There are clubs that respect common logic and meritocracy.
Stop excusing and normalizing catastrophic practices

Barcelona, along with Madrid, are objectively speaking the 2 biggest brand names in football.
We deserve better...

United are a bigger brand name than Barca even though Barca are the bigger club.

Fair. But if we win another CL before you then we need to have a conversation about the 2nd biggest club itw.

It'd be between Barca, Bayern and Liverpool.

Right now I have Bayern and Barca ahead of Liverpool but it's very close.

They would be in the conversation if they didn't have a horrendous recent history. They're similar to how we were in our banter era.

If Milan get back to being one of the best clubs itw consistently, they'll definitely be in the conversation.

Another problem is that Juve have twice as many domestic championships as Milan. Milan aren't even the kings of Italy.

Currently the biggest clubs are:

Madrid

Debate between Barca and Bayern

Liverpool

Barca are ahead of us because of their insane success in the last 20 years which means a lot in these conversations.

Before 2006 Barca had only 1 CL/European Cup.

If we win our next CL before Barca and Bayern, our fans will have every right to claim that we're the biggest after Madrid. Objectively speaking, it'll be a serious debate then.

Not sure why you're trying to deny what a massive club we are and have always been.

What he highlighted is nonsense. Getting a certification as SD says shite. I can show you tons of bad coaches or SDs that had gotten such certifications.

This is not university-level degree, but even graduating from uni you have to prove your worth in the market first, where everyone is measured eventually.

Next...

Ideally, in order to get a big decisive role at Barca, one must prove their credentials and ability at a smaller club as a Sporting Director or Head of Recruitment.

If you're a brilliant SD or HOR at a Brighton or a Lille, then you should get an opportunity at a giant club like Barca.

Edwards proved he's a genius at Portsmouth and Tottenham and then got the big opportunity. Hughes proved himself at Bournemouth.

Meritocracy >>> Nepotism.

I have answered this so many times:

Font's biggest mistake in his 1st campaign was everything he did with Xavi.
Evidently, Xavi as SD made 0 sense, and in reality it was:
1) repaying him a favor for helping his project by promising him a core position
2) a smokescreen for making XAvi the coach eventually, which was the position he wanted.

Thankfully for everyone, we saw how good Xavi is as a coach, and this won't happen again. Font's last statements after press question on Xavi attest to the fac that Font does not include him now within the potential structure. How can he, after the backstabbing anyway?

PS: As for Nadal, I have a different view. If the position concerns skills or expertise that can be applied across sports, then that's not a problem

That's the standard? 😂 , their "professional" approach have done them a world of good

Now compare that to laporta's "shitty" approach over the same period of time.

Atletico In the same period
2 league titles 2 CL final appearance.

Might as well copy them, but they appoint former club players or someone associated with the club as well

20 years? Liverpool have been the standard only since 2016/2017.

Before that we were terribly run.

We were such a mess that it took 2 to 3 years to just sort out the previous mistakes within the club.

And within that period we had to compete with Pep with unlimited resources backed by a state funded ownership group.

Winning the Prem is much tougher than winning the Liga. Terrible comparison.

Klopp's Liverpool would walk the La Liga numerous times with ease. We got 97 points and still came second in the Prem lol.

Even Barca's main rival in that period was much more of a cup team than a league team.
