To make things clear, I don't want us to sell Sergi, merely making a point that he's not irreplaceable.

Barçapocalypse NOW!
Why exactly would Busquets not be successful outside Barca? Carrick is a poor man's Busquets in every aspect of his game and he's hyped up as the best central midfielder in the Premier League. lol

If anyone, after all these years, still needs any confirmation of Busquet's importance for this team, he just needs to rewatch Spain's latest WC qualifier game. Busquets doesn't play in midfield for the first time and for the first time since 25 qualifier matches Spain do not win a qualifier game and actually get outplayed in midfield.

Del Bosque (coach ESP): "Maybe we lacked some defensive stability because Busquets didn't play in midfield with Alonso, doubt will remain."

Zonal Marking:

:busquets:

Yeah yeah, all that is nice, but I said "not AS succesful", nowhere did I say he wouldn't be successful...

Wow pre Guardiola?!!!!

I would imagine everyone on here followed them before Guardiola.

I guess Real Madrid should sell Ronaldo as they won more before he arrived?!!

Again, who would you replace Busquets with?

Everyone? I very much doubt that, in fact, I doubt that so much I'm willing to stick my neck out and say less then 60% of regular posters followed the club pre-Guardiola, if I counted in all registered posters, I would say less then 40%. I can seriously remember a time when no one knew who Barca were, or if they did thought that we sucked, how times have changed(to be honest we did suck for half of the 00's)

On who I would replace him with it depends, I still maintain we should never have sold Yaya, but his stupid agent saw to that, and Yaya didn't want to listen and that led to his departure, oh well. I don't like this option but I know people here are in love with Javi Martinez, I think he's overrated and overpriced, but he seems to be living up to his pricetag at Bayern so far so I'm probably wrong about him, which would be a first. I know someone came up with the idea to play buy either Hummels or David Luiz and play them at DM because of their passing skills, movement and speed of thought, this sounds like something I would think of actually but its too risky, they may fail, or they may be awesome.

In fact, hold on, I need to go and draw this up, I'll post it here later, I just came up with a cracking idea on how Song can play at CB without us having heart attacks.

Jesus stop trying to make your point more valid by claiming you have followed Barcelona longer than anyone else, it makes no sense as you have idea how long others have followed the club.

The rest of your post i just pointless ramblings really.

Guardiola said he would never ever sell Busquets and there is a reason for that. Shame you cant see it really.

You asked me how long I've been following and I answered, don't be mad bro.

Ramblings? If you want me to simplify what I said I do that for you

"You really are a fool if you think Busquets is irreplaceable"

Only Messi, Iniesta and Xavi have that honour.

Now, jog on son.

More ramblings.

I never once asked how long you have followed Barcelona as I dont care and isnt really relevant.

You are totally clueless if you cant see the importance of Busquets.

If just watching him isnt enough for you go and read up the quotes from Guardiola, Del Bosque, Xavi etc who wouldnt sell/swap him for the world. Even Fergie set up a game plan to man mark him a DM ffs!!

He's like Xavi, Iniesta, Puyi, Leo and Valdes, he's made for the club, no way he'll leave.

Less we forget, Barcelona have IMO the best DM in the world at cb so he's for sure not irreplaceable, however he suits Barcelona's system very well for keeping the ball & doing the simple things. 100m isn't realistic anyways, it'd be more round the 30 mark if there was an offer, i wouldn't let him go that easily though.

Mascherano never looked altogether comfortable playing DM for Barcelona, which considering he was classed as many as the best DM in the world, proves how hard it would be to replace Busquets.

All I'm seeing here is a whole pile of bull:shit:. If you want to call Busquets the best DM ever who no one can ever replace, thats fine, but don't expect the rest of us to agree with your crap. No one is saying that we should sell him(unless a crazy offer comes in), just that if we do he can be replaced.

Now jog on back to dreamland, some of us have better things to do.

Simple question-

Who could replace him?

Find a decent MC and convert him to DM. :)
Just ask Cocu or Toure who never played as DMs before joining Barca and yet played that role so brilliantly here.

Mmm... sell best DM, to get another DM who is not as good?

I guess, it would depend on how big and urgent debts are.

Busquets might be replaceable but the team would be worse off.

Well it'd be far too early to write him off after a couple of games, the guy is a defensive beast, although Barcelona would miss Busquets height (although it's not as if he's a good header of the ball anyway) he'd soon adapt after a run of games, underrated passer of the ball too.
