Wow, the Messi thread has went from being one of the most predictable and pedestrian to becoming comedy gold!

Fair play to him. He does come across as a decent bloke although it was a shocking challenge.

Yeah, it was a terrible challenge, but sometimes shit like this can happen really. It's like a battle on the pitch. I hated Ujfalusi before, but after hearing that he went to apologise, I don't dislike him as much now.

Hopefully it won't be too long of an injury and he will be back straight into the team and continuing his amazing run of form as he has been excellent as usual so far this season. I didn't think it was possible, but he looks like he has improved even more this season in his allround game. It's a shame he's had a little setback, as I could have seen him going on to score even more this season than he did last season, although he still could do this if he only misses 4 or so games.

He will be a big loss as talent and ability aside, the guy also has very good work rate. If he loses the ball, he always chases back to win it back. He plays with his heart and soul everytime he steps onto the pitch. However, the club should have enough talent to cope with the up and coming game, there is plenty of strength in the squad, even if it is one of the smallest in the league. We may get to see a few more youth players step up a little now.

I guess Villa will be the main front man now and we will see plenty of goals from him. Bojan is also very capable, but he needs a good run in the side to russtle up a bit of form.

Whenever we've needed Bojan the most in the past are the times when he has stepped up for us the most. That much is clear about the kid, he loves his side and does all he can when we need him.

The first match I've ever missed since I started following Barca and this happens to Leo. I'm glad it's not as bad as it looks though, and hope he gets well soon and is back to his regular self.

I'm glad Ujfalusi apologized. Speaking of the injury, this type of an injury occurs a lot in basketball. I don't see players in the NBA being out for more than 2 weeks even if their ankles were swolled double the amount that Leo's was. I remember it was last year (or year before) Dirk Nowitzki's ankle was swolled up the size of my head and he came back in approximately 2 weeks later.

Besides, I bet Bojan is shitting his pants from excitement of getting to play for 2 weeks!

I didn't read anything about Ujfalusi apologizing but I did read that Flores went to see Leo...Either way, it was a seriously lowclass challenge...That's the kind of thuggery that kills careers

What I did like from the Czech player was that when he was sent off, some moronic Atletico fans were actually trying to congratulate him when he was walking off and he ignored them...Who applauds someone injuring another player?

Atletico fans, really? I would expect that out of madridistas but not from Atletico fans. Pathetic.

This is sports. The opposition fans could give less shit about morals. If you think that's bad I have even a worse story for you...

When Utah Jazz played LA Lakers in the 2008 NBA playoffs, the sick motherfucking Jazz fans held their eyes whenever Fisher stepped up to shoot freethrows. They held their eyes because Fisher's daughter was diagnosed with eye cancer and he had to move to LA (and therefore to the Lakers) to receive proper treatment. Here's a pic.
