It makes perfect sense. He subbed in Yamal because it was a home game with many socis who wanted to see him and the match was over anyway so Yamal didn't lose a lot of energy. It's also obvious Yamal tells Flick when he plays, not the other way around and he probably just wanted to play at least some minutes. It was often the same with Messi when he rested, they usually subed him in for at least 30 minutes regardless of the result so the people can see him.

I will say that team selection for 1st Newcastle encounter and by extension Sevilla had the look of very calculated & strategic choices with Wednesday's return in mind. I do think there is an aspect where he is trying to ensure he has depth in key areas to trigger at Camp Nou - while the attack is one aspect, Frenkie's absence is the most concerning tactical issue Hansi has to account for. Will it be Bernal paired with Pedri in a double pivot and Raphinha dropping in as a link to the front 3 of Marcus, Ferran & Lamine...or will it be Olmo/Fermin in the hole

I suspect a tactical tweak for Wednesday as we have yet to see the best version of Barça IMHO

True, his defensive pressure stats are not very good for LWs - to be clear, among worst at his position. It's at the other end where he excels and that's what 30M would get you, a terrific offensive player but mediocre defensively

If they are offering him only a 3 year contract as reported then it is not worth it in terms of FFP.

For that you could get 50m+ plus player.. probably more once take Rashford salary into account.

Unless as he is a name he heads to Saudi after a couple years.

Been worth his place in squad this season and been good in a few games Barca have won and others like Sociedad away where came on and did well but defending was poor.
