Xavi Hernández

‼️ Xavi: "Hansi Flick came to apologize when I asked him whether the club had really been talking to him while I was still the coach..."

"During those 2 or 3 weeks when the club had already decided to get rid of me but nobody told me to my face."

"Flick apologized, we spoke for more than two hours, it was fantastic. The club had told him not to tell me anything, and that’s why he came to my house to apologize."

"He’s a good person, very noble, and I’m happy things are going well for him."

That was really CLASS act by Hansi

My coach!

Not nice on his part to try and destabilise the club at this time of the season. The club does not need any problems at the moment as we enter the business end of the season. Truly sad at how Xavi became as a manager, he didn’t seem this self absorbed as a player.

It's fuckn elections brother.
It's the perfect time to attack a candidate you think is unsuitable to the club

Can't believe how many of you swallow the whole Laporta propaganda and use his exact words

Wake up!

They never question that Laporta was the one to call for early elections on the back of good sporting results lol.

What’s Font gonna do? Sit there and shut up because anything negative will “ destabilise” the team.

Utter rubbish.

Exactly

He points out so many times that Laporta and Echeverria were his "close friends" and how they "bertrayed" him

As if it fucking matters

If you don't do well in results or the way we play football. If you don't fully trust in your players and believe in yourself and in them that you can build a great team. If you are Xavi Hernandez, one of biggest legends in this club, or some absolute nobody... it's time to go. And no argument. This is the correct approach

Also when Roberto "his friend" came to him and asked him "do you really want me out?". That speaks a lot of team atmosphere at the time. They felt entitled to their places in the team because they are friends with the manager and he gladly accepted it

And Jordi Cruyff is Johan's son so he should be the living personification and an example of this club?

A LOT of things in this interview don't really go in Xavi's favour at all. I don't know if he is fully aware of that. He tried shitting on Laporta and to a degree managed to do it but he also buried himself here with many statements.

You don't see that he also criticizes Echeveria who is a PROTOTYPICAL example of nepotism in the club?

Font's campaign is all about professionalism/modernization and against the old ways of doing things, a prime aspect of which is nepotism.

This goes hardly against Font and in favor of Laporta

BTW
Laporta is a perfect example of Trumpism in how he talks

Anyone who criticizes him is 'trying to destabilize the club or Flick'
'Attack on me is an attack to the club'

This is typical dictator language who identifies the club (the nation or the state) with himself

And the sheepish folk keep repeating that language

Cultish.

🚨🎙️| Victor Font: “Barcelona should not be in the hands of people who believe there are "good Catalans and bad Catalans."

Nor should it be in the hands of people who believe they are not obligated to explain things to club members, or who do not want the club to be a participatory institution, or who do not want Barcelona to benefit from its full economic potential.”

The former president distributes cards of who is a "good Barcelona fan" and who is a "bad Barcelona fan." Now Xavi and Messi have become bad Barcelona fans! And even a member like Mr. Font has become a "bad Barcelona fan."

This is just demagoguery and an attempt to manufacture narratives that have no basis in truth.”

Funny how many in here say Fatporta destroyed Font, while from the quotes I am reading it's the exact opposite

Really curious to find the whole thing with English subs

🎙️ “This interview may have an impact on the elections. You can be accused of being opportunistic”

❗️Xavi: “What I want is for socis to understand that this is happening within Barça, and with his hand on his heart…that the club needs a change from top to bottom, structural, professionalism”

“For me it's very clear and people have to hear it from my mouth. We cannot depend on people who are not noble”

The most honest Xavi has ever been

This is bad bros LAPORTA didn’t deny it

🚨🎙️| Victor Font: “The thing that everyone knows and is no secret is that the son-in-law of the former president wields influence equal to or perhaps exceeding that of the president himself, even though no one elected him, nor does he hold any executive position, and moreover, his ideological stances have no relation to the founding values of the club.

🚨🚨🎙️| Joan Laporta: “The criticism’s on Alejandro Echevarría? Regarding what was said about Echevarría, he is someone who has my complete trust, especially in matters related to the Spanish League and the Royal Spanish Football Federation.

He is a person who works for the stability of the dressing room, because he has an excellent relationship with the team, and this benefits me greatly, as he is also progressing very well, and that's why we see the harmony that exists inside the dressing room.

In addition, he is a smart, honest, and brave person, and he has a great ability to solve the problems that arise during the club's management.”

Xavi comes off as a bit of a victim in this interview (as he did towards the end of his tenure here) but he still raises, amongst all the bluster, some important points that should be addressed.

Amongst all, Xavi is claiming that the board lied to some members of the team, telling them Xavi wanted to sell them, to turn the dressing room against Xavi. Lying about Messi's renewal, many talented staff members leaving, Echevarria running things in the shadows etc.

Whilst Xavi probably isn't the most reliable narrator I imagine there is truth in what he said and I can see Laporta doing it. He is a real politician through and through.
