I have seen headless cockroaches more focused and faster than whatever Kounde serves up day in day out.

There as a moment in first half yesterday the ball was a few yds away and right of front of him to go get on it once brokendown.. he took a sec to even react and looked zoned out.

Only natural I suppose considering his wages and ineffectiveness at RB that the player originally purchased to be a CB may need to consider a new club

Love his mentality but wouldn’t know where to play him regularly

There is no way that Kounde wasn't signed as RB. We literally had no RB in our squad until he was signed, and had 2 starting caliber CB.

Xavi wanted him signed as a RB

He was the top rated CB in the league at the time we signed him. What moron thinks about getting a player in top form as a CB to play him out of position?

He was signed as a CB.
XAVI thought Kounde- Araujo CB partnership will cook.
But he was shoved into RB cause we had none.
Thats facts,

I think this kid is correct for once

He isn't.
Kounde was always the last major signing, they needed a RB desperately at the time as we had none.
We even needed grantees to register him until we sell Auba.
Xavi always talked about back 4 that has the versatility of becoming back 3 with with one becoming CB and the other becoming a winger.
Kounde was the perfect choice for that.

A CB in back that 4 that could shift into back 3 as RB - like he did even at Sevilla. He regularly switched between both roles there and was clearly targeted for this flexibility. Ultimately, however, for the intensity on the defensive side of the ball. He was never seen as a true weapon as a RB in Barça’s style of play, never going to be an effective weapon as an overlapping FB/winger

Yes, he has deputized well there but that makes him a master of none and more a utility player than 1st choice. And at his wages, unless he is winning pts with this flexibility it begs the question of upgrading his role with someone at far lower wages…and perhaps a specialist at one or the other

Kounde is a RB atm, regardless of what he once was or what he was bought for. He isn't big enough or athletic enough (jumping ability) to be a starting CB in a big club.

He was a perfect fit for Xavi's ball as a defensive RB, for Flick he is a decent fit when he is in form, which only happened in the second half of last season. When he isn't, he isn't good enough regardless of fit as he gets cooked on both ends.

Barca is allergic to selling and reinvesting strategy, and the market for fullbacks is awful atm, and many of those are system RB. One that fits one system could struggle in the other.

I don't see us replacing him in the next few years, if anything he ismore likely to be Our starting RB in 2030 than being replaced in the summer.

You're simply forgetting that Barcelona is a dream place to live, and the club is one of (by far) the two biggest football clubs. Unless another club offers significantly more money, no one will leave. If someone makes an offer, you can always talk to the player, but ultimately, the player decides. And Kounde played absolutely world-class football last year and has already stabilized his form again this season (even if not at the level of last year). I'm convinced he'll deliver again in the decisive phase of the season, and I don't want him to leave us at all.

If he could deliver at CB, a team like PSG or Chelsea may have been in for him.

I wouldn't put it past Kounde himself either having an interest in moving to London, Paris or Pattaya.
