Joan Laporta

I'm pretty sure the voting happened under Bartomeu and the plans for the whole Espai were in a much more advance state than the new Manchester bullshit stadium. That part is crucial in a socis owned club as Barca. Laporta tweaked a couple of things but the main idea is from Barto's times. That's why Laporta didn't have to get another vote from the socis, he just didn't change that much.

What idea . It's a stadium that looks close to the old one. It's the doing it part that is by far the hardest.

The choices in terms of planning were forced on us, almost all.

Like:

1) solid roof would be too expensive for such a large area needing cover -> tensile roof only option
2) total demolition of 1st and 2nd stand, too expensive also -> build new 3rd stand over it and recondition the old part.

What other big decisions are there? Most new stadiums have solar panels and such, to be at least partially energy self-sufficient. It's an industry standard these days.

Come on... you guys are over inflating just how revolutionary the project is in terms of planning. It's a very big stadium that is being done at current modern standards. Its appeal lies in keeping the old spirit of Camp Nou alive, but brought to 2020s. Not some grand idea Bartomeu had lol.

Yes and Laporta never did anything about it last time and came up with a terrible plan.

Good for him realising the plans that were put forward previous to him and approved were correct way to proceed.

If I understand you correctly you are arguing that this design is the only one that was possible anyway? But on the other hand you are saying that Laporta's design is so different to Barto's just because of the VIP boxes. Maybe I missed something but this doesn't add up.

Laporta is in charge of one thing only. Making things happen.

And he would never have moved Barca out of Camp Nou with Messi in team in those years.

Making things happen with designs and plans in place prior and with future funds isnt the heroic act made out.

Lets see how making this happen goes in long run and if he has done it in the correct way that will keep Barca Socio owned as promised.

If Laporta was in charge instead of that clown, players would have never been placed above the club. Imagine risking the club's future to pay absurd wages to some washed up players who get trashed in CL by likes of Roma.

Lies... he tried to keep Messi with CVC deal and Perez stopped it.

Again... how many more boxes has Laporta added?

Don't tell me you're part of the crowd that believes Laporta's lies. Those are meant for Messi fanatics to keep them in check, and make it seem like the club desperately tried to keep Messi.

In reality, as soon as Laporta got a look at the club's finances, he knew very fast Messi was as good as gone. Decision was made up fairly soon, and much of the planning was damage limitation campaign, common in politics when you know something unpopular has to get done.

Believe what Laporta lies? What on earth are you on about?

Reality is Laporta wanted to sign CVC deal to keep Messi and the board members/guarantor stopped it.

Again.. how many boxes has Laporta added to stadium?
