Starting to think the players are taking the conceded goals very lightly. We have turned around games so many times under Flick, nobody really cares or reacts if we concede, just business as usual.

That's what worries me against the big sides. Most teams are guaranteed to score against us without too much effort. These comebacks cannot be counted on game after game against best teams.

I said this before but I doubt our backline is actually much higher set up than any other high pressing team's backline is, like City, Liverpool, PSG, Bayern. I have no football PhD but I see no other possibility to press high without the backline also coming forward unless you want to have gigantic gaps between the lines. Look at RM's backline here who are absolutely not known for pressing or playing a high line.

If this was us conceding a big chance like this, commentators would be yapping about Flick's high line as per usual.

I think our problem is that we have bad individuals and a kid in the backline and usually play a soft double pivot with Frenkie and Pedri. Skill issue, not system issue. I've never seen Alves and Busquets misplace passes to each other in the buildup followed by Mascherano easily left behind like what the Cubarsi-Koundé-Eric triangle produced for Kopenhagen's goal yesterday.

Conceding is okay if we were at least 1 or 2 goals up but somehow we ALWAYS concede first and early in these kind of games. It makes no sense. At some point you'd think the players would actively learn to be extra focused in the first 10 minutes but no.

Yo this was the reason why we didnt win vs Inter, coming back doesnt work always. Somehow team always sleeps in first 10-15 minutes. The comeback qualities are insane though, Mr. Hansi is a magician.

We are through to the knockouts and what that means is that it is only a matter of time before we play a team that has spent many hundreds of millions more on their team than us in the last few years.

And realistically it will mean that we will have to beat 3 of these financially doped freaks in order to win this trophy.

All whilst not really having a defender that can defend well, or a home stadium that doesn't feel like an away stadium.

All this makes it a mystery why people talk with disappointment here that we are not looking like Champions League favourites.

To me, the UCL is just a ' bonus ', until the above factors change. As a result, I just go along with the flow and wish for the best without expecting anything special.

I'm more invested domestically, where I believe we can sweep all the trophies again.

Don't exclude the possibility of us making a run though. There are no real super teams, every top team has shown fair amounts of vulnerability. Whilst I don't expect or demand that we do, as we have already well overperformed our resources if we win LL back to back, I still consider it very possible.

I think, on our day, we can definitely beat any team in the world, we just have to hope for a bit of luck with the draw and during he games.

Yep.

It's crazy that teams like Napoli, Atlanta Galatasaray and Spurs have spent more money than us. Yet, for some reason people expect a deep run in the CL. If you want to win CL you need a physical DM plus a CB and FB.
If you are buying quality that's a minimum of 150 million in transfer fees.

For me, this year was supposed to be the UCL year.
It was a bonus last year, but since we won the major domestic trophies, we should have aimed for higher this year.

Even with our problems, LaLiga & Copa aren't that difficult for us to achieve.
2 LaLiga & 2 Copa in the last 5 years.
5 LaLiga & 5 Copa in the last 10years.

What we lack is the UCL pedigree.
I wanted us to get good at that, at least Semi- final each year. So we can cement our legacy their.

But after Inigo left, and us not getting any backups in the backline last summer, I gave up hope for a deep UCL run.
We should aim for UCL each year, cuz LaLiga doesn't really cut it for me. We have won in multiple times more than Madrid this past two decades, so we don't need to prove it there.

Barcelona definitely without a doubt is the 2nd greatest club of all time and even with biases against us Barcelona doesn’t exit to 5. We need to win a UCL as soon as possible because 10 years without one is simply unacceptable for a club as big as Barcelona. Despite the general trend of Barcelona in Europe being underachieving, what we did between 2005-15 makes our standards way higher than how they were. Hopefully, this year it comes home somehow in one way or another. Last year we weren’t ready for it but hopefully the players can have it in them to bring it home this time.

My issue is not even that we haven't won the UCL in a long time. Its that, UCL has almost always has been a humiliation ritual for us. If we don't win it, its always a exit with heavy losses, or some sort of humiliation.

As you see my post, this is what I want us to change. Hence, me wanting us to play at least Semi finals regularly. Just like Madrid did, before their UCL winning streak.
Our core team is young, if we constantly reach Semi's often, it will create resiliency. There's bound to be a period of success following that.

Last year was finally the one where we had a good run, we showed grit, determination, and we didn't capitulate. I just wanted us to replicate a similar performance this year.

We did struggle against dortmund though. A lot.
