22 - Marc Bernal

It's a tough task to get 15-20 minutes here and there as a youngster while not playing regularly for the B side. Sooner or later Flick will have to give him a couple of starts in a row so that he can grow into his position.

Speed of play is the issue. And that's not something that is because of lack of fitness.

Should go to somewhere like Elx in the Summer and play a full season I feel.

Ya.

We are kinda overcrowded in the 2 midfield positions. Been saying this since the FDJ renewal saga.

Bernal still has time in his hands. We wait this summer, and make sure his ACL is properly healed and that he has recovered well.
Come summer, loan him out to a LaLiga club where he can be guaranteed minutes for the season.

FDJ contract is till 2029.
1-2 years of loan for Bernal would do wonders. Granted, we keep the remaining MFs, so Gavi/Pedri/Casado/Eric

he hasn't shown anything that proves he deserves a start. i've not seen anything special about him since he came back. no high work rate, intelligent movement, or consistent press control. right now, he's just there

So we should care about him till summer because of his former ACL and then loan in to a la liga team.

Problem is we're short on cash and we have other pressing needs such as CB, probably a fullback, winger and definitively a CF. Casado hasn't showed up at all this season, every time he played we struggled as a team - I'd rather give his minutes to Bernal. One injury on Eric or Frenkie and we don't really have a "deep" midfielder. But sure, if we magically also find cash for a DM/CM than loan him out...

Cash is not the problem, on a Barcelona forum I would hope that people would at least frame these discussions from a position of knowledge - it is a problem of Liga FFP constraints...and those problems are not related to cash but approvals

Liquidity is not a problem for a club that generates more than a billion a year in revenue, accounting approvals are

Ok
Cash is not the problem
Spending of cash is the problem
Massive difference. I will tell this to myself everyday from now on

According to Gerard Romero, it seems like the club is leaning towards loaning him out possibly to Girona this month.
Fabrizio said it too

I say absolutely yes

Gavi will be back too, so we don't have to worry about midfield depth

Casado, Eric too. Olmo has shown he can play double pivot sometimes

Kid needs to play. He barely played even before injury. Girona could be a good team indeed, after all we have excellent experience with Eric

I like this pivot this year. Kids of his age have to play regularly in LaLiga. Bernal, Fort, Valle.

We have plenty of depth, so he won't be missed. But a 6month - 1 year loan will do far better for him than sitting on the bench week in week out.

Great to hear honestly, even for next 5 months regular play will make a difference and Girona would be a smart destination. Of course, so would a host of Liga clubs

I agree with you, but Girona also needs to manage his ACL recovery well. I'm not sure if he's ready to play every game this season.
