We promote players too early. He should return to Barca B for the rest of the season to recover and get back into the rythm. In the summer he does a preseason with the first team and we see if he's ready for the first team, a loan or another season in B team.
But we promoted him too early so Barca B is not an option and he'll rot on the bench without any playing time until he's ruined and will leave for free in a couple of years to some small club.

First start in over a year and he hardly got any minutes as sub either. We shouldn't be to harsh on the boy...
He should be able to play well against Alaves at home.
Noone is crossing out his career but truth needs to be said.
There's rose tinted glasses on here based off of those first two LaLiga games last year.
Bernal was good but made out to be the second coming of Busi.
Reality is he needs time and work- with or without the injury. Just go back to the game before those games, the Gamper on Monaco, where he was as slow as yesterday and also caught out in possession costing a goal.
I'm on his bandwagon, the same way I was on the bandwagon of an 18 year old Oriol Romeu. So those are the two spectrums that Bernal could end up as, closer to Busi or closer to Romeu. He's a prospect afterball.
Lastly, if I was going to nitpick, I'm more concerned about Bernals game against Palestine with Catalunya than yesterday's for Barca. He was also slow, but the passing decisions were not the correct ones and safe only for the sake of being safe and not because they were the best option. That's a bigger red flag for me than the speed of a player returning from a major injury.

18 year old coming back from a horrible injury, doesn’t do well his first game back is strictly normal? Give the kid some time man, Barca fans can be so toxic at times its crazy.

I'm not writing him off but his slow decision-making was quite concerning. I don't think he played the ball forward once to create something but instead gave the ball to next guy to make the pass.
It's fine to not have pace or stamina for full 90 minutes but at least show something here and there what makes you stick out from the rest. As far as I'm concerning high IQ and passing has always been his stengths amongst peers, weird that he wasn't able to show us some of that.

Not in this case, he could still be registered with the B team and with the B team number and play for the first team when needed.
Agreed about his age and patience but tell me against which of the opponents he should have played and should play in upcoming matches?

He is overly safe on ball currently and was before his injury but also his age plays a part there.
Is never going to be the quickest so will need to work on moving ball forward earlier and with more purpose.
These young players that grow to that size quite quickly can take a bit more time to settle and be comfortable.
