14 - Marcus Rashford

He's definitely motivated to turn his career around. But he still needs to show more for Barca to consider buying him, because his complete package (30m fee + ~18m salary) rounds up to ~25m per year if he gets a 5 year contract. In comparison, Lamine (without bonuses) costs the club less than that.
Also we need to see how it'll work out when Rapha is back. The upcoming clasico will be a big chance for him to gather arguments for a permanent move.

IF he is purchased, unlikely to be as high as €30M based on what Deco recently said

I also don’t believe he’d receive better wages than Lamine or Raphinha, his wages would have to conform with the new wage structure

He’s barely 3m into his loan and 8 months remaining- a lot can happen but I like Marcus in this team, a lot

Antony ended costing Betis just 22m after playing the long game negotiating.

If Rashford is deadset on it being us or nada, then we could whittle down the purchase fee and payment plan.

Man Utd won't want to keep high deadweight wages on the books, despite their excessive spendings.

He's proving that the club was right to move for a LF & keeper over a CB.

With injuries we would be fucked without a LF, while we'll always concede for fun as long as flick is coach, the key is to have forwards who can score more.

Good job so far

And if any of the CBs would play on their level it wouldn't be that bad either. Wings were clearly weaker, a bigger weakness.

He always had great attributes.

What was lacking was consistency, work rate and mentality.

He knows this is his last chance at an elite club so he'll definitely work hard and give his best. He knows Barca won't coddle him like United did for ages.

Brilliant signing by Barca. Very shrewd.

The last few years of disappointment was the kick up his ass he desperately needed.

His talent was never in doubt.

Let me tell you guys an underrated aspect of his game. He's really good at combining and linking up with his teammates and picking out passes when he's motivated and has good chemistry with his teammates. People only ever talk about his pace and shooting ability but his linkup play is really underrated although not the most consistent.

He provides Barca a great threat in behind and it's a natural pattern of play and an opportunity for natural synergy that Yamal on the opposite flank prefers the ball to feet while Rashford is great at running in behind when needed.

Having said that, he's not a striker/CF. He can play there if needed but it's not his best or natural position at all. His holdup play is terrible and he likes to play facing the goal. Ideally, he should be playing off a traditional targetman.

He's more naturally talented than Raphinha and can be a great LW for Barca.

A big W for @Fati_Future_BallonDor @Birdy and @draconifire so far but remember he isn't a permanent traditional striker. Quote me on this.

Link-up is not there yet, he has to learn where and when to do it.
But I am fairly confident it will happen

Ideally, he is our LW.
Ideally we play Lamine-Rapha-Rashy behind a striker

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, after the 6-1 win over Olympiacos, Rashford spoke to the media about his role on the pitch and shared his thoughts on his preferred position.

“I prefer to play as a winger, but I’ll play wherever I’m needed to help the team.”

The Englishman also praised the team’s overall performance, particularly their composure after the break.

“In the second half, we solved it with patience and by building up our play. It was a good game, and we’re ready.”

Marcus Rashford then turned his attention to the upcoming El Clásico, expressing his excitement about facing Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu this weekend.

“The match against Madrid is important — that’s why I came. I’m looking forward to it.”
