Camp Nou

That 2007 design sucked so bad

Indeed which I give Laporta more credit than that actually being a stadium he thought would be built.

All politics.. hopefully.

Its a blessing he never had any real plans for a new stadium really.

This stadium will be best in world... that 2007 stadium looked like some kind of generic cheap stadium built to host an Olympics.

If they werre serious about it they would have been producing better designs than that long before 2007.

Laporta talked about this already despite club's resurgence in sporting performance, financial stabilization efforts and renewed focus on youth development much like his first term, persistent & joyless critics thrive on discontent even when the sun is shining

Laporta - "Whenever things are going well, out they come again. There are people who don't want us to win - it makes them angry. They want to destroy us."

In Psych its referred to as negativity bias - amplified by triablism, personal biases and impossibly high expectations. A big reason why I especially love Joan's resolve "Luchamos contra todo y contra todos"

Makes those Ls even sweeter

Word salad again.

Same Laporta who at time claimed Real never won CL with him at Barca and he is their worst nightmare.

Tip.. dont believe all he says.

Stadium.... Bartos design, banks money and filled by players before Laporta arrived in Yamal and Pedri.

He has done well to go with the Espai design though. Def credit there. Beautiful.

All these folk that think they have a clue who claimed Barca squad was far behind Real and Xavi should be left in charge. I was with Laporta on both those claims being nonsense.

Ls all round there.

Means nothing... but aye here we go the whole world is against Barca including the council for 'reasons'.

Usual nonsense.

Work can still be going on 10 days before game and after stadium passed fit to play.. Barca were taking down stadium while still playing in it.

As Jammy said, Laporta is on his way to deliver something that was just a PowerPoint presentation for the last 20 years, serving election campaigns. It's not cutting edge, but we are not doing just some facade work like Bernabeu with the retractable roof and underground pitch mechanics. Camp Nou is a full rebuild. Such extras can be added in another time, if needed at

Given the complexity of such structures and also price, something tells me Camp Nou will be absent of them long term. But hey, at least you have shitload of brand new Turkish concrete!

I'm no construction expert. But I know since childhood concrete is not an end product. It's a mixture of cement, water, sand and other ingredients as gravel.

You don't import it on a ship or plane.

For those interested in how the hybrid pitch is woven via these electric machines, very informative content from manufacturer. Takes less than 5 days to transform pitch.

They're mixing the concrete on the former mini-estadi site. At the beginning, they've used the old concrete from the Camp Nou's third tier structure they've demolished to create the new mixture.

Laporta deserves huge credit for the stadium being built. Bartomeu deserves some credit also for choosing a timeless design from that Japan architectural company, keeping the minimalist appeal of Camp Nou intact. Laporta led board added the two 360 degrees vip rings over initial project which are an essential addition. This build is very much key for Laporta's great presidency so far. To go near a treble in exile, that's another tier of greatness right there. Just a great club president. Mock him, make fun of his theatrics, the man is the best this club has in terms of leadership by a mile. No contest.

This is the 2nd time he will leave the club in a way way superior position than what he found when he took the challenge. This does not go unnoticed. That is what being a great president is all about.
