1. I agree regarding the Frankfurt point, but we did try to come back late in the game and it ended 3-2. This wasn’t helped by our cowardly socios who sold their tickets to the Frankfurt fans and we basically played an away game at home.

2. I do not see that the players really cared for the Europa League, as I didn’t see much motivation in any of their performances against Man United. We didn’t look like we cared, now I am not saying it out of arrogance but I’m simply saying the truth that the players did not care for the Europa League and we basically only focused for the league after the CL elimination.

3. 10v11 against a quick team like PSG is impossible. It simply is, when has team ever won a 10v11 when being 1 man down for 60 minutes in a knockout UCL game. We were the better team when it was 11v11 but unfortunately we got that red card and it wasn’t meant to be. And if you bring me the Benfica game then we can say that we won cause we had experience from the PSG and Monaco games in the past year to finally understand how to handle such a situation.

Almost coming back v Frankfurt saves none of the embarrassment and it was on club letting so many of their fans in which adds to it.

The Europa was important and players knew it. It was important for a lot of reasons.. mainly financial and everyone at club was aware.

It was important to try and avoid yet another humiliation also.

It was important to try and win it and get pot 1 in CL.

Against PSG the red card and collapse is another embarrasment. Barca were still favs to go through at that point and PSG needed to score 3.

Same PSG who went out in next round to Dortmund without scoring.

Europa wasn't important. Arsenal also lost to Sporting as they were focused on winning the Premier League. It is not an important competition for Barcelona, certainly not when you fight for the league title. Sure, if you are doing poorly in the league, it becomes more important, but in that season after the CL disappointment, our focus was on La Liga.

Wasn't that important for Liverpool either when they got smashed by Atalanta. Clubs like Barcelona and Liverpool don't care much for Europa League.

You won't find any rational person who doesn't have an agenda who thought the PSG came was an embarrassment, we were the better team over the two legs at the very worse the teams were even, and a individual mistake cost us

We had better chances to score 11 v 11 and were leading by 2 goals, not many teams is holding on to that lead vs PSG, especially after cancelo also fucked up

It was nothing like the previous years of embarrassment in Europe that we had.

Europa was massively important and everyone including players knew it.

Financially it was huge and for the following season.

It was a humiliation to lose at home to a team like Frankfurt.

It absolutely was a humiliation to go from 2 goals up to conceding 4 and out.

You dont get to separate the red card from that.. it was part of the game and how Barca collapsed.

As said that PSG struggled in groups and took a dodgy pen to get past Newcastle and then went out scoring no goals v Dortmund.

Both PSG and Inter were very winable ties where we shot ourselves in the foot.

Indeed and not some huge winning back respect performances as made out.

Frankfurt was another huge humiliation for Barca though and everyone from top to bottom knew how important it was.. least not to avoid yet another one.

No. We are still without knocking out a big team in CL since 2015.

United, Chelsea of 2019, Napoli of 2024, and Dortmund of 2025 are not big teams.

Thats the point.

This idea that meeting PSG in QF and collapsing was some creditable performance is utter nonsense.

It was another bad collapse against a poor side that season.

How you do under pressure is very important part of getting the job done. Inter and PSG kept their cool despite not being that good, while we made stupid errors and went out in the end. We will get there and improve though.

Indeed.. thats why no credit for collapsing and to make out QF v PSG elimination won back respect is utter garbage.

It was yet another collapse.

Well, some credit for doing better than in other seasons, but for Barca, not much to brag about.

The good part is that 2 seasons ago we were close to CL semis but fucked up, last season even closer to CL final but fucked up... maybe we make the next step.

The red card was the reason for collapse and everyone knows that Barcelona is not a team that can defend viciously like Chelsea 2012 or Inter 2010. I’m telling you that the red card was the only reason they qualified in the first place. Barcelona was the better team before the red card and only went out due to it. It is basically impossible to stay intact when you have Mbappe and Dembele pressuring your defence the entire time, I am not excusing the loss though I know we sabotaged ourselves but it simply is impossible to survive a 10v11 tie with the quality of those attackers going on your defence. Which truth be told is a really bad defence.
