Just watching a video about everton's stadium.
Initial expected cost: 300m pounds
Final cost 800m pounds.
And of course it was finished later than expected.
I wonder what the over run for the camp nou will be
Doesn't matter for Barca, as Limak signed a contract where they guaranteed the maximum cost and everything above they have to pay themselves. And it's not only the Camp Nou, it's the entire Espai Barca with rebuilding the Palau that will also host concerts and office/hotel area in front of the Camp Nou.
Camp Nou cost was estimated to be around 1b and the entire Espai Barca around 1,5b. It will obviously be more in the end, especially with all the delays, but that's on Limak. They agreed to Laporta's demands of a maximum guaranteed cost, that no other company was willing to agree.
Well that was, what was signed. Barca got a loan for 1,5b, they don't have more money to spend. If Limak starts to create problems for things they signed themselves, then their plans for the european market are finished before they even began.I sincerely doubt that something that will be followed through on TBH.
There is no real delay. Construction is working at a great pace. Delay is made up, because the club used Camp Nou return to secure some deals. They knew full well a 105k seater with all those extra amenities couldn't be done in 3 years. Impossible.

Looks sensational - apart from that spotify logo (if that's what it is). Necessary though.
There are clear delays in the timelines given.
In no way is anything being done at a 'great pace'.
Timelines given were not reasonable to me at all. 3 years full time with most of it being done while games are underway? Bollocks.
You cant say they timelines given are unreasonable and still just pass it off as all working at great pace.
Unless more deliberate lies that have no upside.
As already been pointed out it is not even the stadium completion that is a year behind what fans were told it is the first phase and before a fan sets foot in it.
I already commented on the lies part as being part of politics of the club. I make up my own mind, and I knew before hand to expect a 5 year project instead of what the club said.
Based on my own expectations the project is moving fast. Don't care if some ate the donuts the club was trying to sell and now they are disappointed.
