4 - Ronald Araújo

Don Juan Laporta Estruch

Basta yaaaaaaa, Cabron ! y Bona nit 🥂
The ones criticising his passing are acting in bad faith because his passing was never something that made him great. You are simply asking something of him he has never been, nor even needs to be in order to be great here.

The most important plus point is he has his aggression back.

The most important negative point is that the aggression has resulted in him giving away numerous tedious, silly and unwarranted fouls which could have resulted in him picking up cards.

He needs to find that tenuous balance between aggression and stupidity.

I support Araujo but I agree that a reinforcement in central defense & future CF are the two biggest areas of 'need' going forward

He had moments good & bad last night, not sure how he escaped a booking tbf

I haven't given up on him like most or expect an apology (which is absurd) but I recognize his limitations
You are just in bargaining stage. If you recognize his limitations you have given up.

Also you understand why I thought the apology was important right? It’s not about how I feel hearing him tell us he’s sorry.
My feelings have 0 effect on Barca success.

Not a knock against Flick or Xavi but under Flick I don't think Gundo would've said what he said in the press after the PSG red card. If he hadn't, I'm sure Uruguayo would've apologized but following the public way he was singled out by a teammate? No way, damage was already done

In a traditional tactical setup Ron would flourish but I can see the speed of the game with a high line leaves him open to dangerous situations that force him to make a tactical foul - this risks a booking. You could see early against Mallorca that Arrasate instructed his team to let Ron roam forward to catch him out - unfortunately for Araujo, he didn't always make great decisions when he did this. Still, early days but I have a suspicion Hansi is not fully comfortable with our central defense

If that's the case good thing we have Christensen, who Martinez as much as I like him, is no better than, except he's left footed.

Might have been a good idea to get him on the field yesterday to get some minutes one would think.
