And just like the men’s, the look of uncertainty on the face prior to taking a pk gives you a good indication of their chances at success…the final miss from France a case in point, I called it as soon as they showed her face

That's funny you say that. I felt exactly the same thing. She looked depressed just taking the kick.

My wife was asking about the psychology of pks and shooting order etc., I just began to say sometimes you can see it on their face and the camera panned to the French player and I said ‘Like that, she has an air of uncertainty - those players often end up missing’

It was a good shootout nevertheless for other technical aspects - Germany shot all but one on target and with purpose, the keeper herself shot 5th!! Plus, easily converting. I was super impressed with Germany and their pks but then the crossbar and now the pressure shifts

France also were mostly good in their pks and purposeful in their run up except for the 2 misses. The first is not talked about enough, the most bizarre run up I have ever seen - thankfully it was saved. Super bizarre, I am still in disbelief over it

Wow nearly 120 minutes with 10 women and still won the match.

The GK of Germany, i forgot her name, was exceptional. Lion mentality!

Will be tough vs Spain, they are stronger than France and had more rest than Germany.
