That tebas bitch if this is true.

Nico wanted guarantees he'll be registered by the end of July and release clause on his contract it he wasn't.

The release clause isn't that bad of a request, because I'm sure I read olmo had something similar, where he would become a free agent if we didn't register by a certain point, could be wrong though.

I think it was the artificial July deadline that made the club say fuck you.

Haven’t seen reliable sources that Olmo had the clause but the deadline was apparently the end of December / beginning of January.

Not July or August.

People just pull out stories out of their asses now. Just more lies and klick engangement.

He extended for 10 fucking years. That's a hard fact, written in stone. Everything else is just useless noise. He wants to spend his football life at his home, which is even commendable. What's not is lying to everyone like a rat to get the highest salary.

Yea January or December isn't as ridiculous as July, it's the artificially quick deal line why the club most likely pulled out.

Might also be some truth to it. Bilbao bitched to Tebas, provoked him into saying Barca isn't in the 1:1 yet - than when Nico wobbled a little they really wanted to "show Barca", like a middle finger to us, and bit more off than they can chew with that crazy 10 year contract and Nico took it.
We'll see what happens now... Bilbao will fail in CL for sure, Nico will play in a team that plays meh and will score maximum 10 goals in all competitions, fans will turn on him when he won't even help pull a 5th place and qualify for next CL, nobody will pay even 50M next season and Nico won't accept a move even when an offer comes in that Bilbao will accept because he's on crazy good money and set for life.
Also. If Bilbao bitched about our 1:1, let's see their finances after giving Nico that fat contract. Not only are they retarded with their Basque BS, but even if they can find some Basque talent they might not even pull it of since all their money goes into Nico.

So yeah. Bilbao shot themselves in the foot economically and Nico shot himself in the foot career wise. Like I said, watch them fail CL this year and end up mid-table - let's see how cocky they are than.

All those theories about him being pressured into a deal, scared or spooked might make sense if it were the end of August, but it's the beginning of the transfer window. There’s a whole summer ahead of us, and numerous clubs are looking for a LW.

You don't just sign a ten-year deal out of the blue.

He wanted to stay and used us to squeeze the most out of them. Simple.

Maybe, maybe not. But either way, we should openly start questioning Blibao's finances because of how bitchy' they were to us.

Nah it definitely didn't go down like that.

He definitely wanted to come, but wanted guarantees, the club told him no, the rest is history.

He didn't need to play us get a few million, when going by transfer news he was the most wanted LW by clubs would needed that position filled.

He could just have said, Barca, Bayern and Arsenal want me, give me X or I walk.

No need for the entire song and dance with Barca for a week

I don't care about Bilbao. They are a fan-owned club with a unique identity that got to keep its most talented player. Now they're about to play the CL with two brothers upfront.

I don't care for Nico either.
