What is the point of doing these tactics to try and convince him to stay.

All this is doing is further cementing that he's out the door now.
I don't think anyone in Bilbao wants him to stay anymore, after he made it clear he wants to leave. They just prefer a different country, so they don't have to face him 3-4 times a season. Imagine if Neymar would have gone to Atletico Madrid back in the days instead of QSG.

When FFP is reliable as we're not where Laporta said we are. Andy Fat, Longlay gone and we still need sales.

Big issue as of today is Inaki and Stegs don't want to leave unless we pay out their contracts. Fuck knows why we are basically the only big club that has these issues with agents/players being leeches.

That's simply wrong, no matter how often people keep repeating the same bullshit from the twitter journalists. MAtS can't do any decision yet as long as he didn't talk to Flick about his next season's plans. And they didn't talk because they are on holiday and you do this in person.
The reports will be reliable after this talk. Of course the result can be still the same, which I highly doubt, because MAtS' career literally depends on him to keep playing.

Inaki is not a big factor for sure. His salary is insignificant in comparison to De Jong's. I would bet tha De Jong renewal is a much bigger issue. If we get that right we could probably open the door for Nico.

Agents are busy mate.
Flick has a say, but the numbers will decide.

What numbers are greater. 3 years higher salary on the stands and career ending, or 5-7 years playing with a slightly lower salary overall? And how many millions are actually worth it to end your career early, to give up on your deams you had your entire life like playing the world cup for your country? Especially for someone who is already rich enough, but still has only one career in his life?

It's not all so easy and shallow as people make it out to be. That's why MAtS needs to talk to Flick and understand his plans going into the future first. Before this talk, all reports about this topic are cheap engagement baits.

Mats’s contract was reportedly structured with uneven wages each season. In principle, it functioned as a deferral. I suppose Mats would claim the difference as deferred wages, while the club would argue that it was the way his contract was designed.

In any case, he will receive the same total amount, with the financial burden likely shared between the two clubs.

If there’s fuss, that’s what it’s going to be about.

This was just an a propos, I agree with your point here.

If his contract is designed as a deferral, then he deserves the difference obviously first, same as Frenkie would have deserved it when the club tried to push him out. But again, this will be the question once Flick makes him understand that he will not play for Barca anymore.
Let's see the result of the talk first.

Well what I'm saying is that Flick and Stegen are on holiday, but the club would have already communicated to Stegens agent the situation. That he is no longer number 1 or 2, and to find another club.

What Flick feels about this situation (and to be fair, it doesn't look like he counts on the current level of Stegen at all) won't factor into the situation as the club will factor in the FFP hit of retaining Stegen over whether or not Flick wants him, when he returns from holiday.

Now, when Stegen returns to the club, and if he is adament that he wants to stay and fight for his place in a fair and honest manner (ie, no politics) then the alternative solution is to not retain Tek. Which in all honesty is not such a big deal as he would be number 2 anyways.

I disagree. Flick is old school. If he decides to change the team's hierarchy, especially if it's about the team's captain who is a decade in the club, he'll tell him in a private and respecful conversation eye to eye.

The club has little say in it anyways, it's Flick's decision who will play and who not. The club just gives him the players. Obviously Flick and the club will have agreed when signing Garcia, but the first part still stays.

edit: I just see we're in the wrong thread for this topic anyways. Better to talk here about Romero's exclusives about the broken windshield in Nico's car

According to news today, he's demanding "written guarantees".
That's just professional. Who would sign a 5-6 year contract without having a guarantee to be able to play. Today is the last day of the financial year. From tomorrow on, a new financial year starts and we'll see shortly, if the club is back to the 1:1 rule and can afford him or not or better said if the league allows us to register him.

edit:
Theoretically the club could even register him without the 1:1 rule, same as it did with all the players in the past. That would just mean Laporta would need to free up way more ffp. We need to wait for LaLiga's new evaluation for the next season to see, where the club will be with the ffp. From 1:1 to 1:4, everything is possible with Tebas.

People were right when say new soap opera would commence. The first few weeks with the rumour of his transfer were normal and consistent.
Last 10 days or so all of a sudden a high frequency of twists and turns.

At this point just going to assume media just making stuff up.

You could have been more specific. You make it sound now as if he is being needy.

Article says it’s about knowing he can get registered or not. Which is fair if this is a true story and not media fabricating things.
