Except this Nico sum is not spending big in 2025. 50-60m is the sum you pay for some good players that usually showed far less than being decisive in elite competition in the final stages.

It is a lot for us in this moment. It's our big signing of the summer.

It is not a prospect signing like that Syrian guy or whatever. He is expected to take the load off Raphinha and Lamine and that means he is expected to deliver and help maintain the quality.

Don't know why would you mention players that never made it anywhere. It's a non-issue. This is Barca. If we are spending big then there is certain level of expectation.

I prefer a player that consistently showed his ability. And faith in Barca.

You know me as a Nico skeptic.

But at 60m he is worth the shot. We are in better financial situation(I hope) and we have Flick.

If doesn’t work out he will still have resell value.

I just think it’s low risk with a good potential upside. He doesn’t need to reach WC.

Yes, it's a lot for us. But we need to make an effort, because the target is to fight vs likes of PSG, Liverpool, Madrid, etc. Once your aim is at that level, you can't sign anything else but players with a high potential. Nico is the best bang for buck at the moment. Someone who has a good age, has proven himself to be capable of elite level vs biggest sides, knows the league, knows the players and combines well with them on NT... makes sense in all areas if the club wants to improve the attack and not rely exclusively on Raphinha and Yamal playing almost every possible game in the calendar.

If we have another season where Raphinha and Yamal play non stop, they will get injured. It's just a matter of time.

Think I replied in previous post. I get the re-sale value but that's not the point even though it helps.

I will get behind as well but I am a sceptic.

If Luis Diaz was available for same price I bet we'd be signing him despite the difference in age and familiarity. Because Diaz is a superior player.

Someone was all for the olmo signing at around the same price last summer, having not done a lot a club level but be constantly injured and pointed to how great he was at the euros as one of the reasons why we shouldn sign him.

The other being he is former Masia.

The level of Just non Sense some talk is not even laughable.

Let's look at Spain, England, France starting wide players. Nico, Yamal, Doue/Barcola, Saka, Foden, Bellingham, Dembele. Only Nico can be signed for such a low sum.
Those are poor examples as they are players already in elite clubs. A better comparison would be for players that made the jump this season or in the past from mid-tier teams to top clubs.

Nico's reported 60M transfer fee is in line with his current status and club selling him. Oliseh, who is a superior player went for 53M to Bayern, last season.

Nico and Olmo are both solid transfers. People speak about Olmo as if he had a disasterclass season. But the reality is much different. Look back on the games we played and you will see Olmo's goals brought many points. He scored most of his goals in touher matches, often the first goal, or the winning goal.

We need players like that if we want to make the next step. I hear the club is gonna have Olmo on a separate fitness program. If he improves his physicality, then he can be a scary midfielder.

Olise is not a superior player. Nico has more dribbling ability, is faster, is overall a player with a higher ceiling than Olise.

Nico's reported 60m is in line with his current status, I agree, but most players go for much higher than what their real worth is.

Dani olmo had 4 goals and 5 assists the year before we signed him

2 goals and 5 assists the year before that

Because the person who keeps talking non Sense about williams (BOJAN) constantly brings up the 5 goals and 5 assists in the league Nico has last year 😂

Also bringing up Henry and Dinho in conversations with Nico, because that's the fake flag he's plating to come back and be critical of the player.

Did he bring up any Legendary players we signed in midfield when talking about Olmo?

We all know the answer to that
We also all know why with Nico, he has to try just that bit harder to impress him.

Apply to Olmo, like Pedri, a tailor-made fitness plan backed by genetic analysis, and you will see a beast next season with 0 injuries

Olise better than Nico, I'm done 😂.

Where was Olise when nico was scoring in the final of the euros and being named man of the match again?.

Being scored by fermin at the Olympics

Only thing I will say is at start of last season we seemed to be facing major mf issue.

That could have played into why some wanted to prioritize olmo.

Olise is a better dribbler. You prob haven't watched him at all...

It's tough to compare Nico with Olise, because Nico plays for a smaller Spanish club vs elite opposition in La Liga, while Olise is the contrary, is playing for the best club in Germany by a mile vs much weaker opposition.

Basically playing conditions are reversed.

If Barca sign Nico, you will see an instant upgrade in numbers and efficiency. Going from the players Nico plays with at Bilbao, to likes of Pedri, Raphinha, Lamine... that's night and day.
