I disagree

Madrid easily has the best squad in la liga and in the world

But I tend to agree we should be top contenders for CL next season, and we probably will
Fair enough. I respect your opinion as you know.

I tend to think their players are more 'high profile' and have more of a 'superstar' following, but they're not actually as good as the Barca players. A lot of their best players occupy the same areas of the pitch too. It's imbalanced.

For instance Bellingham is more famous and a bigger name than Pedri, but I'd take Pedri's talent and style of play all day every day (though I know you likely agree with this particular head to head).

But even if you're right, Barca are close enough to RM that it is more of a negligible difference and can easily be made up in tactics and style of play. It's not all about player quality; tactics (and rotating the squad) matter too and that is where RM struggle. Let's hope Alonso doesn't sort them.

When Hansi Flick observed some Barça Atlètic players during first-team training last season, he noticed a significant physical disparity between them and the senior players. This lack of physical development limited his ability to count on them in emergency situations. To address this issue, the club has decided to reinforce the physical preparation of Barça Atlètic. As a result, they are now searching for a strength and conditioning coach for the B team, who will work under the guidance of Julio Tous. The objective is to align the reserve team’s training with that of the first team, ensuring that both squads follow the same physical preparation methods and overall approach. “Make them do everything that the first team does”. [@ffpolo]

Unbelievable that they needed Flick to point out the obvious. And even the first team started to focus on physical development only when Flick joined and Deco brought in new physical staff.

Will be interested to see what he does to make adjustments to Alonso's 352, won't go into that again, but I explained it before the inter game and it game to pass, the formation just exposures the 4231.

Or will he just let it ride and leave the players to figure it out.

Alonso won't have an easy time making that system work with the players he has.

I think Alonso will tighten the ship up, but I still think he'll end up running into problems as the season goes on.

Real is a team that played their best under managers who didn't completely shackle them to a certain ideology (Carlo/Zidane) being the most notable in the past decade or so.

Managers that wanted to enforce a certain system and other concepts never seem to last under them.

I think it will depend a lot on Alonso's charisma and motivation abilities. Mourinho did make them follow him and transformed that side.

You're welcome
What I am curious about is how long until we see him cry about stuff and “gentleman” farce gets found out.

I hope Flick doesn’t take his time and breaks him quickly.

I hope we truly take that night in Milano as an insane motivation for next season's UCL. I'm yearning too much for this trophy and I hope the club is too.

Can the big ears come home come 30th May next year????

It's the one we all crave. We are massive underachievers in the CL.
We should have win it 7 ir 8 times minimum. So many wasted opportunities under our golden generation. Criminal that we've only won it 5 times and our last was a decade ago.

It's crazy that all our previous managers after Lucho were lazy bastards and never paid attention to this aspect. Valverde was the worst.

Bro we are so down bad right now. Granted I didn't watch football at the time but we reached La Decima-esque levels of obsession with this trophy, it must've been torture for Madrid fans to see Barça lift it 3 times in the 12 years they waited for it. But Ig we surpassed those levels of torture seeing Madrid lift it 5 times in the 10 years we waited for it.

10 years and counting...
