Not just that but very bad Catalan too, they invented a new word (deportiu) to keep the initials RCD when they changed from Español to Espanyol. Sod off, either do it properly or not at all.

How can you be a "Royal" Catalan club anyway, last I check the crown of Aragon was long gone. Unless of course Espanyol is leading the campaign to nullify the result of the War of Spanish Succession, which would be pretty sweet actually.

Technically Catalonia is a component of the Crown of Aragon, it only was legally incorporated into the Castillian crown as a punishment. An institution should not be both a royal institution of Spain and also claim to be culturally Catalan.
