Pablo Torre (loaned to Girona)

Xavi needed someone to Puig, makes sense to choose a mid who'd probably be the most creative. Medieval catholic dungeon psychology.

Is he that bad that he can't even get a few minutes when we have Kessie and Roberto starting in midfield? Not even a few against teams like Cadiz?

I'm really starting to wonder what is the case here because by all accounts Xavi is the one who spoke to him and convinced him to join, yet seems to be so terrified of putting him on the pitch he won't even do it at 2-0 against Cadiz let alone United. I really wonder how he must be performing in training.

Why make investments in young players and keep them in first team if you think they're that bad? Bizarre and could've sent him back to Racing to rack up some stats and gain value at least.

Read rumours he likes the nightlife. That could be it.

You raise an interesting point though. Xavi played a big part in convinced Torre, Kounde (who wanted to play CB), Kessie (apparantly was Xavi request and Alemany wasn't keen), Ferran and Raphinha.

Alot of these guys are not being used as promised, not playing or doesn't fit what Xavi wanted.

How long until the goodwill runs out, and when we're next competing for talents that word gets out that they won't get what was promised?

To conclude and back to Torre, he has looked well off the pace. Should have been loaned in winter when all things considered.

Literally never happens

No need to construct weird arguments. He's probably just not good enough (and was fucking stupid to join us considering Gavi and Pedri are here).

Well already in a summer we know Xavi will say anything to get a talent across the line. Next time a Torre may choose Castilla, a Raphinha Chelsea, a Kounde Chelsea, etc.

We will always always always, get talent.

Last summer was the worst of the worst for us & we got big names linked to the almighty EPL.

Nothing Xavi does or said will change that, if we can tell players come, we won't be able to register you for the first few league games & they still comes stays it all really.

Torre just isn't good enough or just not ready yet, everyone clamored for us to sign cheap up & coming players we did, just didn't work out with this one.

Kounde plays RB for France as well, we have options at CB to cover, none at RB, it's his job, he's not a child.

Raphinha clubs have to adapt to player, but players have to adapt as well, especially when you aren't Elite, it's a two way street, again it's his job that he's being paid millions for.

Hasn't shown enough. I'd be more angry about Estanis not training with the first while Juan Roman has.

Not very meritocratic.

Egg on my face. Love an omelette but not like this.

Mentioned it in the Copa thread.

I doubt he'll play, but let's see what he can do to help us in the final stretch of the season, he has that directness that we lack coming from the left, might be a decent bench option next season if he adapts.

Absolutely. I'm just happy he has been rewarded. It's a good message to the rest of the academy since Alarcon is there because of how the rate him, and not on B team performances since he isn't in that team.

BTW, Barbera would probably be in the mix had he had a smooth renewal. Either way, don't really blame him for choosing to leave.

Yea I'm pretty sure Barbera would be in the mix as well, but he's chosen a different path for Himself, so I understand the club not calling him up.

He's playing now in the YCL, half decent game.

Players smart enough to leave, you just have to not be retarded to see what Xavi's doing, are the players we need. Since we'll probably win Liga Xavi won't get fired and he'll put final coffin nail in when he selects the summer transfers. Like I said a year ago Fati needed to jump ship before his demise.

I am impressed with Xavi's scorched earth policy.
