Women's football

Watched highlights. Man, womens football is so awkward. Most of the goals would be blooper worthy in mans game. And that all in one match among supposed top notch rivals.

Lol, not really.

If Messi would score a goal like Mapi Leon, Pina or that Madrid player from almost half line the whole world would talk about it today.

But you're just an ignorant troll so don't know why I'm even responding to you.

How satisfying was it to see the fans behind the goal jump up at the 5th goal. Vibes of Sergi Roberto's PSG goal.

That's the thing. These goals weren't scored because of some super duper shot, but because of utter incompetence/physical limitations of goalkeepers. There was another goal that went into right hand corner, which was 100% savable even for u16 level boy goalie. I've noticed these kind of goals are common occurrence in ladies football watching different highlights.

At the same time that European women's football has begun a new chapter in its history, the Iranian football team is on the verge of elimination from the World Cup in Qatar due to the fact that women are not allowed in the stadium for the World Cup qualifier in one of the religious cities.

Barca with a 6 goals comeback win against Villarreal yesterday, Claudia Pina came off the bench at half time and scored a hattrick in 18 minutes.

Good news. Game was first scheduled for Saturday but the club asked UEFA to reschedule it to Friday as men's first team will play on Sunday vs Rayo.

Won't be an easy game though. Wolfsburg just beat Bayern 6-0 in top of the Bundesliga table clash a few days ago.

Lyon and PSG will play in the other semifinal tie.

Claudia Pina injured but should be back for the Wolfsburg game.

Some transfer news: Leila Ouahabi has decided to leave the club in summer and could join Vicky Losada at City.

We're linked to Ona Battle. She started career at Barca but left in 2017 and is now at Manchester United who have an option to extend her contract so we'll have to negotiate with them. I think she's primarily a RB but could also play LB.

Another player linked to Barca is Marie-Antoinette Katoto. She's a PSG youth graduate and became their all-time top scorer at the age of just 23 earlier this year with 105 goals in 110 appearances (also scored 24 goals in 27 games for France). Her contract is expiring and apparently wants to leave Paris but I think we'll most likely consider her only in case Jenni Hermoso won't renew.

Wouldn't be against getting another quality player upfront but if Jenni stays (which I hope she will) we're already stacked in attack with Jenni, Oshoala, CGH, Lieke, Mariona, Pina, even Rolfo although she's almost a full time LB now. And not to forget about Bruna Vilamala who will also return after missing most of this season. She was quite promising last season and will only turn 20 in summer so should have a great career ahead, already tore ACL twice though so hopefully injuries won't ruin her.

Laia Codina will also return to the club after a successful loan at Milan this season. She'll probably compete with Andrea Pereira to be a backup CB to Mapi Leon and Irene Paredes.

Are you ready? Less than 6 hours until the game, can't wait!

So far we've lost all three games against Wolfsburg and not scored a goal against them yet, including that 2020 semifinal loss in a single game. But we're a much better team now.

We'll have to do it without Lieke Martens though. She will be out for around a month with a hamstring injury so her season is probably over although there are small chances she could be back for a potential CL final.

Good news is Patri, Oshoala, Pina and Mariona have all recovered in time and will be available.

Also, a new world record attendance is expected. It's time Barca fans show up after that disgrace last weeek.
