Camp Nou

I was talking to a Catalan friend (he's early 30's) who is a socio. He's the typical profile - almost never goes to the game. His whole family have season tickets and it's just one of those things 'they've always had growing up' and he thinks it's my foreign ass making a big deal out of the Camp Nou because I'm...foreign, lol.

He was telling me about how if I had the chance to sell my ticket for 500 euros I would too, then he was talking about how Barcelona is a poor city and the wages are low, and all this while I'm just facepalming myself to death. Things won't improve guys, let's just forget about it. Mind you, these are millenials we are talking about with this attitude. So yeah, I don't see this ever improving.

Laporta reveals last night?s attendance numbers in detail:

- 37,746 season ticket holders (many to Germans)
- 34,400 (all of them to Germans)
- 5,000 sold directly to Eintracht
- 2,425 people invited by UEFA

?

OK, don't tell me the majority of yesterday's entire attendance of almost 80K were Frankfurt fans.

So I guess some of the 37,746 season ticket holders sold their tickets to Frankfurt fans, but not a majority (There were plenty of Barca fans for sure), but where the hell did those Frankfurt fans get those 34,400 tickets?????

Scandalous.

Holy shit, so it?s basically confirmed that more than half the fans in the stadium were Frankfurt fans? How is that shit even possible? I truly believe the fans outside Barcelona are more passionate for the club than the Catalans.

I don't get it, Barcelona is the one of the "richest" city in Spain (2nd behind Madrid only in terms of GDP per capita?) and Europe, how the heck can they complain about this while fans of clubs in other cities (like Valencia for example) are so lively?

Something unique about the Catalans? So entitled.

Yeah, pretty much. We don't know how many of those 37,746 season ticket holders sold their tickets, probably just a minority but still a HUGE shame and the fact that Frankfurt fans bought 34,400 tickets on their own is also scandalous.

If we don't stop that (away fans can buy tickets in large numbers), ID-checking and name-matching (announced by Laporta today) alone will not stop that from happening again.

Fuck this shit. Some socis are so damn shameless.

So this was for the 3 english speaking Eintracht fans there are worldwide? Or was it made by socis themselves?

Club definitely needs to react. We can't have a huge number of people just selling or not using their season tickets. Of course this was especially crazy but Camp Nou should be nearly full every game.

High ticket prices to rip off tourists probably isn't very helpful as well.

This was allegedly from some socis who were selling tickets/ (card in this case) at some hotel where Frankfurt fans stayed. It is in English assuming Frankfurt fans could understand it, after all, who speaks German? :p

From what Laporta said today, other than some socis who sold their own season tickets/card, there were also some tickets that were bought by socis and later general public using non-German credit cards or IDs that ended up in the hands of the Frankfurt fans (34,400 of those). Shame.

West Ham won't have this problem, I was told because you can't even buy a ticket if you are not a member and their members are not as bad as some of ours.

I got this from Twitter:

"As a German Barca Fan who was at Camp Nou Last Night i can say That it was easy to get a Ticket…you just needed a vpn and a Bank Account of a non german Bank. I bought no Tickets from members or stuff like That…just the official way".

VPN... of course. This is one of the holes the club has to consider to fill moving forward.
