I hate Koeman. Hated him at Benfica in 2006, where despite a very good run in the Champions League (and we could have eliminated Barca), he was awful in the championship.

And he stopped this a few games back, but that thing he did at the beggining of the season, where he subbed the right back (Dest) for a central defender (Mingueza) to try and defend the result, it still baffles me. He did the same at Benfica.

The guy was hired to get rid of most of the players (Suarez included) and it nearly cost us Messi (and probably still will).

Hate the guy as a manager and he's yet to prove me wrong. The league was there for the taking and he's letting it get away.

There was some talk about Koemans merits when he arrived, talking about him like a Championship level manager, based on his former results.
I didn't care so much about that talk, but thought the job at Barcelona would be a lot different, and that he also would have a well thought-out plan for how to approach his dream job.
So many times his decisions has looked as if you took a random Championship tier manager and put him at Barcelona, though.

Messis bad form turned around as the whole team turned it around. It's not a completely separate thing, there is some correlation at least.
Now, koeman is getting more heat than EV, who is surely no better overall. Both have pros and cons. I happen to prefer Koemanball, even though I can see some of his faults. Valverde ball was killing me slowly, so instead of making a step back again and hiring someone even worse we could cope with koeman the next season, that is a transition season, too.

I do not believe that Xavi, if appointed, might be worse than Koeman. But, considering the financial situation at Barca, laporta may not be happy to pay him a firing lump sum if he will be offloaded. I understood that he has a clause in his contract if fired before end of his contract, similar to Jose Mourinho had at Tottenham.

All catalan press is in favour of Koeman and very very divise with Laporta. Laporta has no leverage sadly. If he changes the coach and the results go wrong he will not have a shield for the first crisis of his project.

I would personally want to retain a pacy option like Dembele, but he has to work with us regarding his contract renewal.

Neymar, Aguero and Ansu is extremely worrying regarding injury potential however.
