We were our own worst enemies in that match with our finishing.

1-0 is a hilarious scoreline when you consider just how badly we ripped them apart.

Could not see the damn game. Saw some highlights and we should have scored a couple more goals but Hart was awesome too.
Happy for MAtS that he was able to save a pen. Anyway, we are in the next round (because of two really convincing performances) and that is what matters.

Clasico now. :tito:

Was anyone as surprised as me that Leo tried to kick it high in the middle of the goal for his chance at the end when he held off Sagna? I thought he'd just side foot it along the ground into the bottom right corner like Neymar did against Bilbao at home earlier in the year.

was suprising indeed. but after tht messi was kind of doing the "give up" look..like his mind was saying "uve gotta be kidding me".

obviously the finishing left a lot to be desired but you have to think with the sort of form Casillas is in, if we create half the chances we created tonight, Madrid don't stand a chance. The lack of finishing from the front three should make them very poised and no nonsense in front of goal on Sunday, particularly Messi and Suarez. I'm sure for the rest of the week in training they are all going to be going ham on shooting so I expect the finishing to be on point against Madrid, particularly with so much on the line.

I think a big reason why psychologically we struggled to finish was due to us knowing we would continue to create chances and with the ease of which we were opening them up, I think it made us realize we could take our foot off the peddle and coast a bit.

Hope for either Monaco, PSG or Madrid believe it or not, the only team who I don't think we are quite ready to face yet is Bayern. If we can get clinical, I think a Bayern-Barca final or semi-final would be very much 50-50 and with Messi being in the form he is now and him being personally motivated to expel the demons of Brazil in Berlin, against Bayern of all teams, I think we can edge it.

Lets get through this week first before we start projecting anything tho lol :004::barca scarf:

Our strikers .

Thank god we have Messi to give them an endless supply of chances.

Felt like such a frustrating game to me with how wasteful we were, but we're through! So can't ask for much more :D!

Draw on Friday at 12 CET I think. I'm hoping for Monaco like a coward! A coward that wants to win the CL!

Wow! Not even close. The two teams couldn't be further apart. I'm not being mean spirited in saying this, but I really wished the scoreline had reflected the game; a scoreline of 7-0 or 5-0 would've been more accurate. Hopefully Sunday will be more fortunate for the front 3.

Messi Suarez & Neymar are saving the goals for sunday, so I am okay with it!
Most important we qualified and we out played the champions of england twice!

Great to watch, we played well but just couldn't put away our chances. Joe Hart was really good and I'm sure the team's saving the intensity for Clasico. But like someone else said here, it baffled me that Neymar and Suarez kept passing to Messi those times when he was clearly swamped while they themselves had a clear shot at goal. Sure hope they change this behavior.

My only consolation for the score is that RM (the fans at least) are under-estimating us, which will be good because Casillas nowadays is no JoeHart ^^

Though I think the players and Ancelotti are not as stupid as their fans, i'm sure they've noticed :)

I get the feeling with Neymar that he wants to try and 'repay' Messi for all those assists. He's trying too hard to impress him almost.

He needs to learn when the pass is on and when its clearly not on.

This happens all the time against English opposition. Still doesn't hold a candle to that ridiculous 2-2 against Arsenal in 09/10. This one:

Created twice as many chances as today in the first half alone and went 0-0 into half time.

Manchester United in the CL final '11 should have ended 6-0 yet we go 1-1 into HT. Arsenal 10/11 total onslaught in Camp Nou yet they somehow get a goal from a Busquets own goal despite ending the game with 0 shots. Chelsea 2012 needs no mentioning.

They got no tactics, because that's the environment they play in. I mean, Chelsea 09 was the last good English team I remember.

My main point was to highlight Barca's wastefulness infront of goal but yeah, English teams have declined a lot. If this current United team finishes in 2nd place which they have a great chance to do it will sum up the Premier League. They have played 2 good games the entire season. Against QPR at home and Spurs a couple days ago.
