He must not leave. Unless he really doesn't accept a lesser role. But losing Puyol, Xavi and Valdes in one summer is too much. Please don't.

If we have a replacement in, I won't mind if any player leaves. The entitled players need to be brought back down to earth, and if Lucho can't do that with finesse I'd much rather them leave.

Why it would mark a new generation. Do we really need veterans, we can input trust in our youth. We are rebuilding essentially whether you like it or not. The older guys might have to go + Cesc & Alves.

Wonder how thiago would be feeling now if rumours are true now would be his time to step up into the spotlight for the club that raised an nurtured him

Now that he's always injured, I doubt it'd be a good idea to get him back, especially with the likes of Rafinha here, and Kaptoum, Suarez, Halilovic down the line.

Losing all experienced and legendary players at once is not good.

That would be the entire backbone of the team gone, which could be a blow for the stablity inside the team. Rebuilding is all good but we want an evolution, not a revolution if we don't want to risk too much stability.

I agree...Sounds like the rumours of the two not being as chummy as some thought was perhaps not far off the mark

Not really. we still Messi, Iniesta, Busquets, and Pique that are ready and willing to step up and become the new leaders of the team of some young players that we should use instead of loaning or flat saying they aren't "barca material". I think the youth are ready, I think these guys are ready to lead. If Xavi leaves it won't honestly be too much of a blow to the team as you think.

If Xavi were to leave, I can already see the story being spun to be about them not getting along well, when the more likely story would be about Xavi not wanting to accept a lesser role. It's not a mystery that Xavi has a huge ego, has been rumored to give Tata the business behind the scenes about how Barca philosophy should be, etc. etc. I hope Lucho tries his hardest to keep our seniors and restore harmony and working order in the team, but as for bending over and allowing stagnation and players to do what they want (as it looked like last season) I'm praying Lucho puts a stop to that immediately.
